When I got my TG50 without CD from e-bay, the first thing I did was go to the Sony website. As most of you know they do not post the contents of the CD, not even drivers.
But I did find upgrades to lots of the included applications.
Have any of you installed them?
How much of an upgrade where them?
How DID you install them? Any 'involuntary resets' involved?

Most are not worth it, since the TG50 has so little RAM. I did install the Voice Recorder update, that is small and convenient (easier playback of LP memos on PC).
I didn't install the Flash player, CLIE Files, or any other updates. I keep CLIE Files on my memory stick, in case I ever need to unzip anything (the CLIE Files update adds zip file support). I think there was a MS Pro update, but my TG50 reads MS Pro's just fine anyway.

I've only installed the Clie Files update so that I can unzip zip files. Unlike madmaxmedia, I keep Clie Files in the main memory. It just makes it easier for me to swap between and manage two memory sticks.
Other than that, I haven't installed any other updates. I don't know why, but I don't remember a time that I couldn't play the LP voice recorder files. Not everything could open it, but I could still play them.
I tried out the Macromedia update once, but it didn't do much for me, and it takes nearly a mega byte of space. That is very valuable space on a TG50.
Mostly all the updates seem trivial or unneeded IMO. For example, for the Clie Viewer update, I'd rather wait a little longer for it to load instead of sacrificing more memory. The Clie Files update is my only useful one, as it adds the zip file compatibility. This is very nice for email attachments and web downloads.

Like a moron, I installed all of them for the hell of it. Sucked all my RAM up....didn't use any of the stuff and removed it all a few days later. Total waste of time.

I installed some of them. the bluetooth gsm updates and the voice recorder updates.. the ClieViewer updates are worth it... had problems downloading images from my phone, and that update fixed it.
I don't have TG50 for a long time but I remember installing only voice recorder update, clie files updat and gsm driver/bluetooth update.
and actually after installing MS pro update MS pro is slower :-)
