Please someone answer my question;

I am having a lot of trouble installing Picsel. I have tried it before installing any other launcher (ie zlauncher) and cannot get the program (picsel) to be recognized.

It does install and the unit resets as it should when picsel is installed however under the "unfiled" category there is no picsel!

I have followe all instructions to the letter and still no picsel

Previously i had it running but after deleteing it to make room for displaying some acidimage pics, and reinstalling it, I cant get the Clie to recognize that picsel has been installed!!

Help!
I want my Picsel!

ps I have an NZ90 and memory card inserted with >10 MB available and over 1300 kb available in RAM after installing Picsel.
All the files are present when using ClieView

Let me try to get this correct.
You have over 10 megs on you memory stick or ram?
I think you are saying memory stick, so I will go with that.
and you say you only have 1.3 megs of ram available after installing picsel?
I can't get picsel to work well with less then 4 megs of available ram. infact I need 6 megs to open some of my Acrobat files.
try getting a program like PowerRun and put all games and utilities you don't frequently us on the MS.
the first thing I would do is backup you memory, then do a complete hardware reset and delete all files. then the first thing you should install is picsel and see what you get.
I have it working just fine, and yes it is incredible.

Let me know if you are having more problems, maybe I can try to reproduce them and figure a way to help you.

regards,
Rony

if you want a good viewer... which can run with no problems from your MS ..... get RepliGo ... find it at www.palmgear.com

Much better than Picsel...... you will see.

Search the NZ site for some postings which have been put out about RepliGo ..... I've put several responses ... and you can't beat it.

Sure Picscel Viewer is free ...... but in my opinion .... that is like saying... I have a graphic program called PAINT that came with Windows. It is free... but limited. Lots of issues... where things don't format and even show up with Picsel viewer.... RepliGo is definately the way to go for a VIEWING package.

Here is what I did on my NX70:

I manually created a folder of: /Palm/Programs/PowerRUN/Picsel

I manually copied the Picsel files to that folder.

I obtained PowerRun and installed it.

Then I tapped on "update shortcuts" under PowerRun's pull down menu. Bingo, it works great!

No Larry, the NZ cd package doesnt come with the files you get from the zip package, its a self extraction file which will install itself when it hits NZ' TG's ram

so your solution wont work unless they obtained a copy of the "actual" installed/extracted files

Does anybody have the solution to this problem yet? I'm still trying to get Picsel to just SHOW UP on the applications screen of my NZ-90 -- No problem with a slow launching -- I just can't get an icon of it to launch in the first place. The files transfer to my Clie, I can see them there with Filez -- but I can't launch them, it just comes straight back to the main screen.

Over a year and still no solution?

"It does install and the unit resets as it should when picsel is installed however under the "unfiled" category there is no picsel!"

the file of PicselViewer should be in the "Productivity" tab

Look, I've been using PDAs since 1999, I'm not a -complete- idiot. Apparently, I just can't write very well in my distress. I've installed the program from the CD that came with my Clie. And the files have transferred to the Clie. I can see them with Filez and with SuperUtility...

...But they don't appear anywhere in my launcher. I can't see them in ANY tab -- I just wrote "unfiled" since I figured that would be a catch-all to describe where a new program installed to my Clie would go.

I'm stuck and it sounds like OTHER people had this same problem back in 2003 -- did anyone still reading this board have this problem and, if so, how did they solve it?

(No offense but, dude, seriously, "It is under your productivity tab"??? Like I would take the time to do a search for a year old thread on a message board but not check -that-??? *shakes head and laughs*)

Repligo and Picsel viewer are completely different programs. Repligo requires you to convert documents into a new format on the desktop and then transfer that onto your device for viewing. Picsel viewer, on the other hand, supports viewing of native documents, without any conversion.

Picsel viewer is most definitely not free.
