After putting a lots of thoughts into it, I've finaly sold my T3 on ebay. The main reason for getting rid of my beloved T3 was the lack of wireless connectivity to the internet. I don't have a bluetooth enabled cellphone (i have a treo600 :D) and after spending many hours, trying to get my T3 to connect to the net using a BT adapter, I had enough and finaly gave up. Plus, I have a wi-fi network @home and @work. I heard the TH55 was a great PDA but why should I even consider it when I could get the T|C or the UX50 instead ?? Beside, the great design, the camera and the screen, I fail to see why everybody is so hyped up about it ?? Did i miss something ? If so help me understand. What made you choose your TH55 ?

Two major factors that make the TH55 better IMHO: bigger screen, amazing battery life.

As you said -I got it because of the great design, the camera, the screen and add to that - no slider, the super slim design, WiFi, more RAM than any other Clie I've owned before and FANTASTIC battery life. For the first time, I'm able sit in the back yard with my pda and surf the web, chat, listen to music, read an ebook (in the bright sun because the screen is that good) and maybe play a few rounds of Bejeweled. And did I mention the FANTASTIC battery life? ;) I can do all of the above for a few hours a day and still not need to charge my TH55 for another couple of days.

I also own a T3 and am not about to part with it for the time being, but I rarely use it except for accessing some work related reference manuals I have, occasional reading and web surfing inside the house via bluetooth.

All in all, I am very, very happy with my TH55. It's the best and most useful PDA I've owned to date.

I had a T|C. Now it's Mum's. :P

What first attracted me to the TH55 was (and still is): Clie Organizer. I know a lot of individuals have been complaining a little about this program, but I love the paper organizer feel to it without the bulk. It's real nifty.

Other perks:
1. Fantastic screen, smooth and really large, which I completely appreciate, coming from the T|C.
2. In-built camera is extremely useful for snapshots and I love that I can include images right away in Address Book in CO.
3. Wi-fi.
4. Battery life. It's fantastic.

I'm extremely happy with it. And will continue to be for a long time.

My main PDA is a TH55/E. As the others have already said, it's the screen, battery life, and Clie Organizer that sets it apart. At first I thought landscape would be a problem but I found myself actually reading ebooks faster in hires+ rather than in landscape. Besides, there are programs that do offer landscape support -- eReader, Insaniquarium, Microquad, and Legacy just to name a few. Bluetooth is an extra perk as I can connect it and sync with my Powerbook and SE T610. No regrets with the TH55/E even if I waited for more than a month to get it, and now finding out it's the last Clie model outside Japan!

(I still keep two other Clies... the NX70V for its Compact Flash storage capability, and the UX50 for its keyboard-based text input.)

T | C ???? *cough* *cough* I.... am.... choking... someone... help... please... *cough*

You ask why not the T | Crapola? I mean T | Kaput ? Urgh..... just try it at a store... you will see my not. TH55 is a superior product.

THe reasons being:

Battery life, web browser, screen size, multimedia features, price/performance value, build quality (C's have been known to literally break), and last but not least, included software, the C has a ton of useless bloatware, while the TH55 has a lot of good stuff...

We're 14 hours ahead of the US mainland. Perfect for news hunting around Asia.

(Plus it's all white beaches, no traffic, no pollution over here.)

The battery life and the "no-slider" design alone were enough to convince me. Having to recharge my T3 every couple of hours was a real pain. OK im sold, I'll order my TH55 and report back in a couple of days.

TH55 IS NEWER, FANTASTIC BATTERY LIFE MAN EVEN WHEN U USE WIFI FOR A LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TEH CAMERA TAKES SHARP PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! crystal clear, sharp, beautiful display!!!!!!!!!! Tc is old and ux50, i was abot to get the ux50 but the screen is just way too small however i really liket he backlitkeyboard. if sony made a bigger screen i would go for it because i liked the landscape screen. btw, how do u know if my th55 is a G, E, F???? does G mean w/bt or something?

Honestly, I think there are some great qualities to the T3, it would be nice if their were a model out there that took the best from both devices. 64 Megs of Ram is nice, Landscape Support Out of the box! However, I would not give up my TH55 for the world, I really enjoy it. I am interested however in what Palm One has up their sleeves? Imagine a T3 with a slower processor (better battery life), no slider, built in WIFI and 64 Megs of Ram? I bet that would sell like hotcakes ...

Most likely answer... If you bough in Asia, it is a G, if in Europe and E1 or E2 depending on language (if Spanish is available E2). Bought in US it is a U. Have no clue on F.

On the back of my 55/u right next to the Sony Logo it says CSK-003/U. I assume that an E would be /E... but we all know what happends when you assume...
