TealPaint question

I really like tealpaint, but I had a couple of questions. I noticed when you zoom in and draw, it makes the line very smooth until you lift the stylus of the screen, then it pixelates. Is it possible to keep the line smooth like it is while you are drawing?

Also, I can't figure out how to open pics that I took with my clie tj37 into tealpaint. Can tealpaint only open .bmp files, or is it possible to open .jpg files?
