Be sure to install both TT4NX and TTFont4NX that way you can always switch back to the default font without a hard reset. They should be included in the newest version posts.

Yea, it works great especially reading ebooks!

Thanks.

After using it for a day, I definitely agree they are much better then the default fonts.

Do they work with LauncherX?

I can no longer live without LauncherX, but the new fonts sound interesting.

Anyone try them both?

Can I just install the font without *ANY* other software?

The TT fonts do work with Launcher X without any problems. The only program I have found they do NOT work with is Wordsmith.
I have both programs and just deactivate the fonts before I use Wordsmith. Lubak did a great job with this program!

Wordsmith works like a charm, just like any other app... additionally it can use custom fonts, so I can use my all times favourite Times New Roman

Wordsmith kept crashing when I used TT fonts.

Huh? You mean TT4NX can use custom fonts or are you talking about wordsmith? I didn't see anything more other than activating/deactivating the font in TT4NX, and think it would be really cool to use other fonts.

Sorry, I was talking about WordSmith, but you got me an idea: maybe the old pilot font maker works with the nx as well. gotta look into this!

Could someone clarify the WordSmith issue? I am using WordSmith, not as a document reader (as I have not registered it), but as an enhanced memopad. Although the names of the memos show up in the TT fonts, the actual text of the memo (when I open the memo) does not. Are others able to get the TT fonts to show up when they open a memo in WordSmith? If so, could you provide instructions on how to do this?

Thanks,

I have no problems using wordsmith with the new fonts activated

Yes, but do the TT fonts show up in the body of your WordSmith memo? Or, like for me, do you only see the TT fonts when you are looking at your list of memos?

Thanks again,

Thanks again,

ojleblanc~~I don't use WordSmith, myself, but the other user was complaining of crashes . . . not seeing diff weights of fonts . . . Do you set fonts in the memos? Maybe you've got something set to use a different font/weight?

Again, I will restate, that I have no problem with Wordsmith and in the memo body there is a font selector.

TT fonts show up in PalmReader and my other applications!

This is very interesting. TT fonts show up everywhere on my NX except in the body of memos **when viewed within WordSmith**. If I look at memos in MemoPad, then the TT fonts show up in the title (when viewing a list of memos) as well as in the body of the memo (when I open the memo). But, if I view the same memo in WordSmith, the TT fonts do not show up in the body of the memo.

Yes, there is a font selector, but the only options are "Plain" and small, medium, and large. I have no additional fonts installed. Perhaps I need to install additional fonts other than the system font since WordSmith is not accessing that one for the body of the memo. Strange.

It's really not all that interesting. This is just how Wordsmith works. Wordsmith is unique in that it was the first Palm app that seriously used other fonts, including those converted from the desktop, to display Memos and docs.

If you want to see TT fonts in the memo body, just go to Menu-Option-Display Options, and uncheck the option to 'Use FineType fonts'. Voila, you have your TT fonts in the body. Otherwise, Wordsmith will display the memo body in one of the various FineType fonts that are loaded on your machine.

rldunn,

This is the answer I was after. Many thanks!

No problem. If you continue to use WS, I would advise you to check out the many FineType fonts available. It comes with a simple converter for the fonts on your desktop, so you can add a bunch of different fonts on to it. I display my memos in Arial, which is still very readable, but fits a lot more on a screen for a similarly sized font than you can get with the TT fonts. YMMV.
