Desktop 4.1

Is the update to Palm Desktop 4.1 something that we Mac/Clié users need or want? On the Palm site page, it appears that 4.1 offers some new apps, but I'm also unsure if that works only for Palm-branded devices.

so... the 4.1 that you download from www.pal.com can be used with the clie?

i'm not sure where else you can get it, but i would get it straight from the sony site. if you get the regular update straight from palm, i think you may miss some things that are clie specific.

I havent looked at the downloads at the sony site yet, I was assuming I would have to download the stock plam desktop from palm.com since sony doesnt suport macintosh, i figured i would not be able to do anything with the .exe files they would post.

Am i confused?

I now have an SJ22 and am upgrading from a handspring PDA. My macinotsh us running an older version of the palm desktop software.

i was talking about 4.1 for windohs. there is no update for the mac desktop and even if there were sony would not update it. we get to use missing sync which does what sony and palm should have done from the beginning - make the best computer work with the best pda.:D
