TC Questions

Hi,

I had a couple questions about the TC (as a possible replacement for my Sony CLIE TG50)-

1. Is there ANY way to enable voice recording without the optional headset? I don't even mind paying for the headset, but it's terribly inconvenient. I record notes on my CLIE while driving, can't do that if I have to pull out a cord and what not.

2. What is the latest browser version that runs on the T C? Can you run Netfront 3.1 on it? It has great selection of views (besides just single column and full desktop view) that enhance browsing on a small screen.

3. How is the range compared to other wireless PDA's? From reading around my impression is that the T C definitely has less range. Right now I BT surf using a Class 1 BT dongle on my PC, and I get 20 ft. or so. When I was trying an NX80 with WLAN card my range was at least over double. I'd hate to get a Wifi PDA only to get the same range as BT.

1. Yes, you can get a "modification" to your TC from Audiost (http://www.audiost.com) for $76.99. They also have a $35 adapter if you don't want to void your warranty that gives you two pigtails that allow you to use a 3.5mm microphone and headphones or for $25 you can get just microphone or just headphone.

2. I don't know, I haven't done much browsing.

3. I get 30-40 feet at most.

3. Wifi range is better than BT range in general, and doesn't have to be line-of-sight, right? I've used wifi with the signal going through multiple walls/doors.

It is dumm thing that palmone and sony clie devices have palm os, but they don't support same softwares for example this great netfront don't support for palmone devices palm os......
