I just realized I can transfer episodes of "The Simpsons" onto my Clie! But I am cuurently transferring them to the Fireviewer, which is under a free trial. I can see the video, which is decent quality all things considered, but there is no audio with the video.
Does anyone know if that is because I am in the free-trial version? Or, does anyone know if I can transfer and view these video files with audio using the Sony gMovie app that comes with the unit?
Any feedback would be greatly apreciated, as well as other information on how I may enjoy the video files with audio on the Clie.
I also noticed that the Fireviewer can only transfer .avi files, while most of the video files I have are non-.avi. Is there a way to convert them to .avi ?
Thanks

Try the kinoma player. it's freeware.
I have still run into a few videos that don't have sound though.
you'll find it here: http://www.kinoma.com/

The Player is free, but Kinoma Producer is $30. Worth it though IMHO. Kinoma is excellent!

After calling Sony, I learned that my t665 already has this functionality; I just didn't realize it.
Here's how to do it. First, install the MS Import, MS Export, and Picture Gear Lite software that comes with the Clie cd-rom. Once you do that, follow the following steps, while your unit is in the cradle.ON THE CLIE: Open MS Import
ON THE DESKTOP: Open PictureGeare Lite; in the Windows Explorer section, highlight thefile(s) you want to transfer to the Clie>Select "File/Output Services/Output CLIE file...">Select the drive to send the files to (this should correspond with the letter drive that is created when MS Import is run. Once the transfer is done:
ON THE CLIE: Open gMovie> the movie files should be there to view.
There is no hotsync necessary because the files are transferred dorectly during this proceudre. Picture Gear Lite can convert .avi, .mob (quicktime), and .mpeg files, as well as virtually all still image formates, so they can be viewed in the Clie.
Happy using!

You might want to try the latest version of Teal movie player. Just as good as Kinoma.

Is there a way to listen to audio with a T615?

Kinoma will also do audio files. I have done it on my T615. Ive also tried teal movie but noticed that the video is very choppy and the file sizes are much larger.

Tealmovie is NOTHING compared to KINOMA.
Download any of these video clips and see if it comes close to what tealmovie can do.

stay cool.
Yep, Kinoma is great.
Only 1 problem: converting avi files to Kinoma does not work always.
Mpg to Kinoma no problem.
Some codec problem?

Some AVI files are Quicktime AVI's. For example, my digital camera produces AVIs that are Quicktime AVIs and cannot be viewed if you do not have the Quicktime runtime from Apple installed (assumption: you are running Windows).

For anybody interested in converting just about any vid file to something Kinoma can digest, I'd highly recommend looking at
www.vcdhelp.com
If you have a file format Kinoma Producer won't recognize, there's usually a way to get it there. Tons of tutorials and links to the software you need to download (freeware, shareware and commercial products). Look more specifically to the HOW TO Guides.
