Hi,
I'm looking to buy my first PDA and so far the Sony CLie SJ33 is top of the list. Although I saw some references to a SJ22? What differentiates these two models?
Right now, my only reservations with the SJ33 are apparently; no headphone remote (using it as an mp3 player will be one of the primary functions for me); and secondly (kinda related) no support for Memory Stick Pro?
Now, I read of all these Sony products being able to use MS PRO with a smple firmware update, so why not the SJ33? I could really used a 1Gb stick for mp3 once they're cheaper eventually.
As far as the remote headphone control goes, my local dealer says the PEGASA10 Audio Adaptor is compatible with the SJ33. And I've confirmed this with other suppliers. The downside is that this is overkill I think. i.e. it doesn't utilise the existing headphone out, but creates a new one from that general port ar the bottom. Any opinions? I'd love to be able to play/pause/rwd/fwd the mp3 player whilst keeeping the main unit in my pocket.
Thanks,
Samplehead
p.s. Anyone have experience with the Memory Stick Mouse? Feedback welcome...

As far as I know, the difference between the two models is the MP3 capability plus the processor speed. The SJ22 is similar to that of SJ30 specs.

The SJ33 does not support Memory Stick Pro. No headphone remote but you get a headphone with a miniature volume adjustable knob. I suggest purchasing a good set of headphone.

I think that the processor in the SJ33 can't handle transfer speeds of the 1GB sticks. Either that or Sony lied by convincing consumers that the new MS pro format is compatible with old devices.

Why purchase the SA10 adapter when the SJ33 has MP3 playback? You'll be wasting your money just for a remote. There's not much option about the remote. Sorry, can't help ya.
Enjoy your SJ33. :)

Thanks for your feedback Jeffry - it sounds like maybe I should wait for the SJ22 and get the PEGASA10 Audio Adaptor with it?
Then it will support mp3 playback, and I'll have remote transport control... hmmm

Actually I was planning on updating my SJ30 to a SJ33 because of the MP3 function and the design. And as samplehead, I am also a vivid user of the ff and rew button when I listen to music. This is a shortcoming on the remote of the SJ33. Isn't the remote for the NZ90 available somewhere cheap, which has the ff and rew buttons?
Or, and I'm just thinking this up: can't the jog dial be used for this? You oughta reach in your pocket to do this but at least you don't have to open the cover.
Does the T665 have a remote control with these funtions?

The MP3 remotes of the NR/NX/NZ require specialised mini stereo plug on the device, so SJ33 and T655 cannot use them.

I bought a used T665C through a liquidator on eBay. It came with a headphone remote that has a regular 3.5 mm mini stereo plug, but also has a 1/8th" square plug about 1/8th' away from the mini plug. The square plug has 4 contacts. My T665C doesn't have a receptacle for this extra plug.
I'm guessing that the liquidator just threw in the wrong remote. Which model does this sound like it goes with?
Is there any way to remotely control the tracks (not just volume) on a T655C?
