Internally, Palm used to refer most of its handheld by the mXXX code. Other the one that shipped with that nomenclature, Tungsten T was referred to as m550, the Original Zire was m150, my friend's Zire 71 has a sticker in the original bubble-wrap that reads m200...

Did Palm (and now PalmOne) continue with this trend or they they ditch it for another. Heard that the Zire 71 was also referred to internally as Panther and the Zire72 as Simba. How about the mXXX codes for the T2, T3, and Zire72? Just curious...

My T2 had a label with m555 written on it.

Just checked my Z72 and packaging - no mention of an alternative MXXX name.

After close inspection of the newer machines, it seems Palm might have dropped that naming convention... No mention of mXXX on the Tungsten T3, TC, and Zire72. At least not in the bubble wrap.
