My T3's batteries took a lethal plunge and the unit will no longer even take a charge at all. I have an enhanced warranty with OfficeDepot that will take affect in October. I didn't want to use the manufacturer's warranty because I did not want a refurbed T3. I wanted to get back to a more basic unit.
I really do feel more at home with a static graffiti area on a 320X320 screan. The larger screans are nice, but the slider became an annoiance and I know that a larger form factor of a unit without a slider would not fit well in a carpenter's front pocket. The clie TG50 almost got my attention in the stead of a T3, but no graffiti area was not going to cut it. I do not like writing on the screan. There are too many screans that include tap button functionality. I could never get used to extended taps to in order to execute button functionality while writing on the screan. I wanted bluetooth, small form factor and graffiti. The T3 lost face with me due to the
dissfunctional universal connector
the extreme decay of battery life
the added step of a slider in order to access graffiti
What I mean by "dissfunctional universal connector" is this. The PalmOne universal connector is not engineered well. It does not truly snap into the unit, like the clie connectors did (or still do, I'm not sure). I would have to hold a cable/charger in place in order to get good contact with the connector on the T3. I also had the same problem with the TT. I don't think the death of their current universal connector would be a bad decision for PalmOne.
I like the Zire72. The combination of the basic palm form factor and the bells and whistles of OS5, bluetooth, and a camera was just what I was looking for.
