The Zire 72 can play WMA9 .asf (windows media 9 player) files. Does anybody know if there will be an upgrade or software so the Zire71 can play these files i just dont think my version of mmplayer can play these files.

I asked the same question.. It depends whether palm one makes the 'media' app (and i assume, desktop conversion program) available to us .. which is inlikely.. so we will just have to wait till the programme surfaces on a yahoo user group of something!

I tried to contact them(palmone), but i was reffered to another department to email them but i could not find a contact. The contact is suppose to be on the PALM STORE site (customer service) which is part of the Palmone site, all very confusing.

it is weird that palmOne opted for ASF format instead of mpeg4 as almost everyone does

Hopefully this is their first real attempt (and not the last) at waging all-out war with PocketPC. Now if only Pocket Tunes would come out with a new version that has the promised WMA support.
