Nice. I may try to talk the wife into letting me pick one up this weekend. She's got great incentive - she gets my T3 if I do!

Let us know how it goes, and give us your first impressions :)

Man! I just want to play with one and no one in my area has one. All the stores in my corner are so lame when it comes to new hardware. I tried BB, CompUSA, and Office Max and none of them had either new PalmOne handheld. Office Max did have a display for the Zire 31 but no unit in it. :(

It's not bad.

I can't do a whole lot with it until tonight, but here are my first impressions.

It has a very nice non-slip finish. Everywhere that it is blue is a kind of rubber paint.

It is fast. Speedy give a speed of 1724. This compares pretty well with the 2000 from my TC.

The camera is nice. Takes decent pictures for a 1.2 MP camera with no optical zoom or flash.

The PIM apps are almost the same as in the TT3 except that they are more picture oriented because of the camera. You can include pictures in contacts like Sony has let you do for years.

You can also use any pictures as the backgrounds for the default launcher and the calendar Agenda view.

The buttons are pretty good. They are big enough for grown up hands. and the five way navigator is set up so that I don't accidently hit the middle when I want to hit a side.

I haven't tried out the voice recorder yet.

The display is great. Very white and very bright. I had been using it on about 50% backlight all morning and it seemed as bright as my TT3 at full brightness (not the brightest backlight around).

The included case is a big step forward, even though it looks like a purse for a little girl.

I am going to be putting a lot more apps on it tonight. I am also going to set up the Bluetooth with my phone and see how it all goes.

So far, I am very impressed.

Oh yeah, I am also glad to be using a full size stylus again. THe one that came with it is plastic, but PalmOne already has a metal replacement available.

ALso, I am a little concerned about the camera being exposed on the back. The lens is a little recessed which should help protect it from the worst hits, but it is stall exposed (in a non-film way).

The lens on my T616's camera is also exposed full time like that... hasn't proved to be an issue, but then again I've only had the phone for about a month and a half. I guess time will tell in the end.

Thanks for the first impressions!
