Hey,

Found this cool palm app based on a web applet that you can find at http://www.sodaplay.com/index.htm . It pretty much does the same thing that the java applet does but on the palm. I find it to be pretty cool and inventive the only problem is that on full screen you can't go back to view the controls unless you quit the app and re-enter it. Try it out get it at http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&prodid=58074

What is Sam:
-------------

Sam is a simple 'Springs and Masses' model editor. A model is
compounded of springs (or muscles) and masses (or connection points).
Masses can be mobile or fixed. A mobile mass will move according to
the forces the connected springs and the world's 'physical laws' are
applying on it, while a fixed mass won't move. Springs are applied a
force that is the product of the impulsion amplitude/phase and the
amplitude of the spring itself.

This is a fun little app, I found it initially on Freewarepalm.com The authors have updated it several times in the last week, and I am currently playing with version 1.33 Has anyone had any luck loading pre exsisting worlds that come in the zip file. I am using a T3 and the worlds I place in memopad are not registered by the app. I assume it's because of the "memopad" renaming to "Memos" on the T3. Has any other users had this feature work?

EDIT: I found version 1.5 "Full Screen" Wooo Hooo" but I still have the above problem : (

The memos need to be in a category called SamWorlds in order to see them in SAM, had be stumped at first as well...

I created such a category, but still no luck. Do you just copy and paste, and leave it the way it shows up in Memo Pad? After I hotsync, there's a space between every line (there'e no space in the text doc) Also, I'm using a Mac, would that make any difference in how the text file appears in memo pad?

Is it SamWorlds or Sam Worlds?

Thanks!

SamWorlds worked for me. I did just copy and paste in desktop memos, then hotsynced, and then in Sam hit load, and the Worlds are there for the picking. In memos on my T3 I don't see spaces between each line, but do see a space between the different descriptions ie World: numbers, then a space, Masses: several numbers, then a space etc. If your seeing spaces between all the numbers that might be the problem?

I've tried different formatting, but still no luck. Any chance you could post a screenshot of your Memo Pad with one of the models? Or just the text of a model formatted correctly?
Thanks!

What you may want to try is create your own "world" and then save it, SAM will create it in the proper memo category and with the correct format so you could use that as a reference....

All I did was use a text editor and copy and paste to a memo in Outlook in the SamWorlds category and then sync.. (I'm on a PC)

Hi Sid

I attempted to download a screen capture program, but the Hrshot da version that I downloaded seems to be a .lzh extension and my desktop zip program can't unzip it. So the best I can do is paste the desktop Memo version here for you to compare. I will make sure it has the same formatting as what's on my palm. This is the arachnid demo. This text is in a category in memos called SamWorlds, the S and the W are capitol letters, this may cause a problem if there not? The text below starts right at the top of the page with no space before Sam: arachnid. ***Also please note, don't copy and paste the text below, as I have formatted it to look identical to what appears on my palm, this formatting preserves the text wrap that I see on my palm screen***

Sam: arachnid

with Sam!

This what I had to do, even though I had created a "SamWorlds" category where I placed the models, SAM created another "SamWorlds". I then moved the models into this one and deleted the one I had made. Problem solved, plus reformatting the text.

Thanks for the help!
