My wife wants to upgrade to the 72 from her 71 just for the higher-res camera. I doubt she cares or even knows what other features it has. As for the T4 and E2, those are still just rumors for the most part, so you may be waiting a while for them.

I don't think that the E2 will be around for a while, but the 31 and 72 look promising. I especially like the fact that palm is making a low-end color model with mp3 capability. The reason behind me thinking this is this picture, in the bottom right hand corner you will see an icon for RealOne Player. http://public.fotki.com/He3eK/palm_photos/new_palms/img_0631.html
If this is going to be the same price as the other low end Zire's, PalmOne will make some serious money. The zire 72 looks like something that I may look into in the not so distant future, but if that Zire 31 is 99 bucks, I will have a tough time deciding whether to "upgrade" or not.

Jippii, new pictures : http://www.palmonecity.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=3216 . These pictures will give me new ideas and will motivate me to buy this (zire 72) pda for example if you go to http://public.fotki.com/He3eK/palm_photos/new_palms/ and look second zire 72 picture you can see media icon where is movie clip drawing, so i thing that new zire 72 will have built in picture and movie viewers/streamers so that is good sign. And if you go to http://www.mobilmania.cz/Text/Ar.asp?ARI=107092 and look last picture you can see that you can add picture to address book for example if you have friend you can add picture to this friend profile and resoluton will be huge 1280x960 so that is very good and top of these things there is new launcher and new themes...

I'm actually considering moving from a T3 (!) to a Z72. The wife currently uses a Sony NX60, so she'll be getting the T3 and we'll sell the NX. I love the virtual graffiti capability of the T3, but I don't feel I use it so much that I'd be disappointed if I didn't have it anymore. The Z72 seems like a great meeting point between the features I'd love to have (and I'd USE) like Bluetooth and a hires screen and SD slot, and the price I'd not mind paying. Can't wait to see it in stores. It's already online at Target's site: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/602-1446941-4923018?asin=B0001KWGP6
That first site with the specs say that the new Zires come with Palm OS Garnet 5.2.1.
I thought OS 6 was out.
Why not put OS 6 on them?

OS6 probably won't show up on any PDA's or smartphones until the holiday season. Also, it's supposed to be for more high-end devices with specs more like the T3...400Mhz processor, lots of ram, etc. Not that the 72 is low end, it just doesn't have a need for the new OS. It'd be a little like putting OS5 on a Vx.

I think I'll upgrade my Zire 71 after the OS 6 devices are released. I'm planning to wait until then to see if there will be a price drop in the Zire 72 and this is because that will be the only way I may be able to afford it. All I really want is the increased memory and the voice memo recording ability as well. I have no need for bluetooth as of now. And, The lack of UC is the other thing that has been putting me off but I know with a price drop I won't feel so bad about going out and having to buy another keyboard for school.

I curr had the Z71 for almost 3 months now. I've upgraded from a Visor Neo, so it Is quite a leap. I'd like to get the Z72 except:
-would need to find a job to pay for the Z72
-need to learn how to use Ebay or Amazon to sell my Z71
-already bought a travel charger kit (Belkin) for my Z71 which uses the PUC
-want to fill up the extra 16MB or so with alot of neat software and utils, but again, need $$ since alot of them are shareware
-hear there are minor bugs/issues with Z72, including the cam quality.
-waiting for the any of the above (the bugs/issues entry only) to get fixed as well as a price drop
In the long run, while a Visor Neo to Z71 upgrade was REALLY needed, i don't feel i need to upgrade to Z72. At least not right away. As suggested by some1 else, it may be time for OS6 to rise up, so I may just flock to a preinstalled OS6 device in the future.

Yeah, If I read correctly, Cobalt will only come on high-end devices, and Garnet (which is just a fancy name for a minor bug fix version of OS 5.2) will be on mid-range and low-end devices

Maybe OS 6 will be on the T4

CK- If PalmOne came out with a T4 (hopefully they'll also come out with a clamshell device like UX under different series name) it would certainly be Cobalt.

So I hear we're to expect T4 by October this year with BT and optional WiFi through SDIO card. Great, but I REALLY hope palm1 wil come thru with a UX replacement.
CK- you'll let us know when the UX successor comes out over there, won't you?
