Photo taking tips?

The mini camera on the Zire 71 is really handy to have around.
It's just way too bad that it's only 0.3 megapixels (I just wail and lament when I see cameras on smaller cell phones around 1.3 megapixels), and that it has no zoom.
OK, had to get that rant off my chest....now onto my question....

Are people having problems with flushed out photos?
I've tried adjusting the lighting, but the fixed settings give worse results than the auto lighting.
Either colors are wrong, or they come out overexposed, especially with outdoor pics.

Anyone have any tips?

My solution is postprocessing:

- you can resize the photograph via smart interpolation with a lots of software (e.g. freeware IrfanView)

- you can adjust the colors & light likewise

- eventually the worst on this camera is the noice. I eventually found a pretty good software to "repair" the photo: Neat Image (search on google for the link). Try it, it is quite impressive!

Try this program: G.I.M.P...
It's basically very similar to Adobe Photoshop but FREE. I like it, I find it quite nicely full of features without confusion.

With outdoor photos, the ambient light can prove to be too much for the lens covering the CCD and you get overexposure and flare. It helps if you hold your hand over the top to eliminate the glare.
