I am not able to toggle by beam recieve "on". When I enter Preferences>Power and select Beam Recieve "on" I press "done" and re-enter the preference to see that Beam Recieve is in the "off" mode still.

I was trying to receive a file from a friend when I noticed the issue. I sent him a file without problems and afterward was asked if I would like my beam recieve on. I selected yes but still my preference was off and I still could not receive a file.

I deleted File Prog only because I know that it offers some enhanced beaming features, but that did not resolve the issue. I have tried resets etc. Is this a known issue with the T3 or any apps out there that have caused this behavior on other units?

I had this happen today... I poked the reset on the back and all was well then. I'll just leave it on.

I did a hard reset, just to assure that the hardware was working. All is well from a clean slate. There is definately an app that I have loaded causing the conflict.

I have found the cuplprit. Rather "themax" did. I found a thread addressing the issue and found his post which stated...

"Found the cause for my problem. Upgraded the keyboard driver from 2.0P to 2.2P (released december 15), and beam recieve works again.

I also found this faq at palmone.support...

"Solution ID: 21013 Information on using infrared while using the Palm(tm) Ultra-Thin Keyboard

The infrared feature cannot be used while using the Palm(tm) Ultra-Thin Keyboard. Because the communications driver is in use when your handheld is docked onto the Palm(tm) Ultra-Thin Keyboard, you are unable to open another communications device such as the IR port at the same time. Simply remove the handheld from the Palm Ultra-Thin Keyboard if you want to beam information."

In short. I installed the new driver and can now turn beam recieve on. I could only do this by dissabling the keyboard driver on my unit.

I had quite a few problems with IR after installing Jacksprat, but that was a couple of versions ago.
