I just purchased my T|E two weeks ago and have been very happy with it. However, just last week, my speaker started cutting out on occasion. I've noticed that I can sometimes get the sound to come back on by rubbing my finger over the speaker in the back (I tested this by letting the alarm go off while playing around with it). What's wrong with my speaker?

Soft reset - then come back to us
Thx,

Already did that--it resets with no sound. I have found if I tap the back where the speaker is, it usually comes back on. Could the mechanism have a bad connection?

Sounds like a loose connection. Is it still under warranty?

I have similar problem with my TE, and it's probably a hardware problem. Still not sure wether I'll bring it back, since sound from the speaker is not very important to me.

Sounds like it's time to head back to the good ol' store and get a replacement. Sorry for your bad luck - hope your next TE is better.

This has been a problem with many T E's. The Sound will leave and then come back. This is due to a loose wire inside your T E. A quick fix is to tap the speaker with your finger, but this is only temporary. I would suggest either returning it to the store you bought it from or call PalmOne up.

The same thing happened to mine. I tried a soft reset and that didn't work, so I just simply took of the velcro that was on the back, and took it out of the case and kept it that way, and then after a day it was back to normal, and has worked great ever since. If you have a case that requires you to velcro it in, then take it out and buy a case that doesn't need velcro.
