My other half has just got a nice new Palm Zire71 - it has one problem:

Whenever she HotSyncs the date resets itself to 01/01/03!

Any ideas why and how to fix this?

:) Maybe you could do a soft reset then hotsync it.
Please reply to tell me if it did or did'nt work.:)

Thanks but didn't work - I wonder if there is a secondary battery or something that is not working properly...

You really should contact Palmone and ask them what is wrong or return it to the place you bought it and explain the issue, they may fix/replace it.

P.S i had a look at your website and was wondering how do you get SIMCITY to play on os 5. I have always enjoyed this game and other palm copies just aren't the same!:D

Hmmm, may well have a word with expansys - where it came from...

Ah, you have been on the site! Still working on it, what do you think of it so far?

As for SimCity - I am going to have a contact point on there soon - msg me when I have, it's quite complicated...

The clock on the Palm and on the PC are set correctly? Does the Palm Desktop ask for a username each time?

Yep, both correct.
Nope, doesn't ask.

Hey Cwolf,

Try timecopy which can be found here http://vons.free.fr/palm/

Here is a description from the site:

TimeCopy 1.4 (released 2002/04/27)

Timecopy will copy the time, date, timezone, and daylight saving information from your desktop PC to you PalmOS device at each hotsync. Palm clocks are known to drift a little (about 1 second per day), and this way, you don't need to worry about that anymore.

TimeCopy runs on all versions of PalmOS (1.0 and higher, including PalmOS 5.x)

The main new features of version 1.4 consist of a real installation program (Windows distribution), and TimeCopy can now be configured to ask for confirmation before making major adjustments. The screen layout also changed a little.

Hope this helps...oh and it's free :-)
