I'm learning the capabilities of my T3 and in particular want to be able to keep most files created on it on an SD card instead of basic memory, even though that's quite large by handheld standards.

Using Adobe for the Palm I converted a PDF file, the T3 Manual, to use as a large file sample, and loaded it on the T3. I didn't find a choice as to what to load the file into, card or T3, so the program loaded the file into basic memory, not the SD card.

What I'd like to do is either move the file from basic memory to the SD card, or if unable to do that, reload the file directely into the card.

I searched the archives and found no answers, so was wondering how to accomplish this task, so easy on a desktop computer, but not so easy on a handheld it seems.

Get the free program called FileZ to move your file from RAM to the card. Unless you have better luck than I did, I never got the Adobe reader to do anything and went to RepliGo, which is much better.

I also never got the Adobe converter to load directly to a card. Again, RepliGo will do that also.

You may want to look at some of the launcher programs (ZLauncher, Launcher X, etc) as they increase the usability of the Palms quite a bit. The built in apps are dismal for doing any type of file manipulation.

You also will have mixed luck in keeping files on a card. Depends on the program and the data you want to move in most cases. Some work, some don't.

If you ever want to run apps from card then use a program called PowerRUN - I don't know of a working download site at the moment though. Anyone?

Using zLauncher there is no need for PowerRUN and Filez because zLauncher moves apps to card creating a shortcut for them and has a integrated filemanager - working for most cases.
Regarding Acrobat Reader for Palm which i use beneath Repligo depending on source format, go to the options. You can set the default place to save converted documents to your sd-card.
I´m using v3.05 - should be the latest version.
Many palm programs with VFS support offer to move databases to card. So i´d recommend to check this first. The apps manual can be helpful, too. Some progs are going to check a dedicated folder at the card for new databases. The common folder for books and other stuff is 'PALM/Launcher'.

I used FileZ to move the pdf file to the card, and it's worked well.

I've since purchased Zlauncher which moves files and a whole lot more.

Thanks again, forum folks.
