Anybody have trouble with the T3 and DST?
I woke up in the middle of the night and my T3 was on and had a "fatal alert". I did a soft reset and everything seems to be ok.

Hmmmm.. I was afraid of this happening so as soon as I woke up I checked it. All was fine!

I was listening to an audible book and saw the alert for daylight savings time....clicked on it and when I clicked done got a fatal alert. Soft reset did the trick for me too.

I can only hope it worked - it isn't based on date and I forgot to tick the DST option on my last hard-reset!

Mine changd with no problems, just an alert to "check my time" to make sure it was OK.
SO much better than the earlier Palm devices!

I have found a bug with Palm's Security50p update and the daylight savings change. If the T3 is locked, encrypted and powered down, it will error and freeze when the daylight savings change occurs. Eventually the battery runs down causing all the data to be lost.
I contacted PalmOne about this six months ago and never got a satisfactory response.
Here is how to reproduce this error:
1.) Perform a hard reset on the T3. Also, empty the Palm data folder on your computer. (This step is only so we have a clean test platform and eliminate other possible causes of the error. Be sure to back up your Palm data first if you don't want to lose it!)
2.) Install the T3 Security50p update from Palm. http://www.palmone.com/us/support/downloads/tungstent3/security5_update.html
3.) Go to security preferences on the T3. Set a password. Click on "Options" and then check "Encrypt data when locked". Click on "Choose Applications" and select Calendar, Contacts, Memos and Tasks to be encrypted. The error will not occur if encryption is not set.
4.) Set the date and time on the T3 to 10/26/2003 12:59am so that the daylight savings change will happen in one minute.
5.) Go back to security preferences and lock the T3.
6.) Power off the T3.
7.) When the daylight savings change happens, the T3 will lock up with an error message and will not auto-power off. The error message says the following:
DataMgr.c, LIne:6341,
Invalid uniqueID passed
(reset)

Yeap, that's it.
mvdude, what was palmOne's response to this?

Six months ago, PalmOne told me they had escalated the issue to the software team.
This time around, front line support is acting like they've never heard of the issue.
They're instructing me to call PalmOne tech support and return my T3 for repair. Of course, that's ridiculous because it is a software issue that can be reproduced on any T3.

Well, I don't know if the DST change got me, but I do have a dead T3 this morning. It won't power on, and soft/hard resets do nothing.
I get a green charge light when I plug it in, but that's it. I've tried disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes, and plugging it back in, but it still didn't help.
Any word on the DST issue since last year? It just seems very coincidental that this happened to me right after DST. BTW, I do have encryption enabled.
Thanks...
