I'm going to send myu pda in to get it repaired what am i supposed to do The up and down scroll button is about to fall off so i have to. How long does it usually take for sony to send them back. Today is Saturday March 1st. If a box comes like they said anywhere from wensday to thursday for me to put my pda in and send it back. When will they pick it up to take it back. The Sony worker told me there would be a number to call and then they would pick it up. Then he said it will be back anywhere from 10 to 14 days. I am leaving for Florida March 19. I need my pda for it. I dont think I am going to make it in time to take it with me. ANy suggestions?

Your pretty much stuck with hoping they get it back to you in time. If pushed Palm would send a replacement PDA with a shipping label for the defective PDA. I don't think Sony does this, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. This is why I go with store bought replacement plans. Good luck.

I had my 665 fixed under warranty and had it back in about a week. If you're leaving on the 19th, you'll have it. To find the repair status, just type your phone # or work order number in the box and you'll get an update. I remember when I did this two days after I sent my Clie out and the post said,"Unit to be shipped back to customer" and I said, " frickin' right on!"..
....leave a note to the technician that you need your unit ASAP.

thanks for the tip. Mine is under warranty to. At least I think they never asked for billing information. But what do you mean by just "type" your work number in the "box"?

I'm not sure how Sony does it, but I went through the same process once. When the fedex driver brought the box he said "call this number for pick-up" and I said "wait two minutes and you can take it with you". He waited while I put the item (SW radio) in the box, and off it went. That cut at least 24, probably more like 72 hrs out of the process.

I sent my NX in for repair last month and the month before that. From the time FedEx picked it up from my house, until the time I had it back in my hands was 1 week (including weekend). Both times they replaced a harness in the screen. The box you'll get from Sony has a sheet you have to fill out with your info and "Work Order Number". You should have been told it by the customer service rep. If not, go to Sony's support page and type in your phone number and it should list it.

From there, you can also get your repair status. The first time I sent mine off, they didn't update the repair status until it said that it was shipped back out to me.
Anyway, have faith. They'll get it back to you before your trip. Just send out your Clie soon after you receive your box and follow the instructions that come with it. Hope that helps.

I sent a 760C in once... mailed it on a Monday, got it back the following Tuesday. And for the record, I really like Sony...
