1. If I have a mobile phone supporting EDGE (a faster transfer method than GPRS) can I use it for surfing and downloading emails with T3 and Bluetooth? Or should there be a support in T3 aswell? Is there?

2. Is there a way to use T3 for accessing Internet using the internet connection on my main PC (Windows)? Basically I'd like to connect T3 to my PC using Bluetooth and then access internet that way. I'd save GPRS/EDGE costs and could do it in my bed :)

3. I read somewhere that T3 is a lot slower when used in landscape mode. Would this affect Kinoma Player? Or are the video clips just rotated when encoded but the T3 is actually in portrait mode? How good frame rates can be achieved?

4. Is there a way to replace the applications in flash ROM to newer versions so that they work without _any_ additional software installed? This is not an important issue...

5. How long can one continuously listen to MP3s/OGGs with T3 if the screen is allways turned off with modest volume? Has anyone measured this or could anyone approximate?

T3 seems very capable model but I want to make sure I get no unfortunate surprises _after_ the purchase...

Well.

1. Don't think it should make a difference

2. Check out the Howto forum here there is a good article.

3. Never noticed a difference when play Kinoma in landscape, works fine

4. No, You will need JackFlash, and JackSprat, do a search here as there are a few threads on the subject

5. Never measured it

T3 is great!!

I don't know about 1 & 2, but:

3. It is somewhat slower in landscape, but doesn't appear to affect Kinoma at all. Almost all the Kinoma clips for the T3 are done for landscape for obvious reasons. I don't know the frame rate limit, but the 400MHz CPU handles everything I've viewed very smoothly.

4. Just HotSync the new version into RAM. Palm OS always executes apps in RAM in preference to those in Flash. The old version will still be in Flash (Kinoma for example), but it isn't taking up any RAM so it doesn't matter. You could also put the new app on the card, because Palm will go directly to the card version from the launcher.

5. I have not tested to battery exhaustion playing MP3s, but my T3 lasts about 4.5 hours with the screen on 1/3 brightness in normal use.

Hope this helps.

I saw a review on the web (can't remember where now) and it said that the T3 would last for about 6 hours playing mp3's with the screen off. Supposedly you can use one of the clocker progs to underclock the mp3 prog and squeeze out 10 hours.

You can extend the battery power by attcahing the "PowerToGo" sled onto it. I got one recently and it's good for 2 or so extra full charges for the T3!

Here are some websites in relation to PowerToGo

Hello

You can get 4-5 hours out of your T3 easily with the lcd off whilst palying mp'3. If you use no headphones then the time drops. Also you can down clock your processor to approx 200 and this gives you a bit more juice to play your mp'3s. I personally use my T3 right now for sudiable books, as I am far to busy dueing work to listen to music. I go into my own little world when listening to music. It is a nice pleasent distraction.
