Hi,
I'm not ure if someone can help me. I just got my Treo 600 and I love it. The problem is I'm trying to get some ringtones and the cell phone company does not have internet so I cannot download the ringtones directly to the phone. The next suggestion was to have the ringtone emailed to yourself as an attachment and then open it in the phone. But how am I to check my mail on the phone if I don't have internet provider. THe hotsync syncs my contacts, notes, calendar, and everything else exept the mail from my outlook. Can someone help me....How do I get rigtones???
Thank you,
JoJo

find the ringtones in the following link:
http://www.myt610.net/
save the *.mid files to your computer than beam it (with infra red) to your treo. i did it to my treo600 and the sony ericsson t630.

i just realize that i have never used the usb - hotsync cable to do this thing. i use the usb - infra red to directly send mid files from pc to treo600 or usb - (infra red and) bt dongle to se t630. and i use infra red between se t630 and treo600.
sorry, can't help you with this transfer files with usb - hotsync cable.
btw, have you tried the "install apps" in your pc to send those mid files to treo600?

Hi,
It's me jojo_1678. I have registered now and had to choose a diff name.
Anyways, I've been trying everything to download ringtones to my Treo600, and the only thing I came up with (well actually my boyfreind) was to download a software that allowas me to get my Treo600 connected to the net via my computer. It works but still it's proven to be a pain. Why you ask? Well because most sites where u can download ringtones have the files in .zip form so it's not a matter of just downloading it directly from the site to my phone as the manual says. What I had to do several times is to send the ringtones to myself via email and then open the emails from my phone which has also proven difficult b/c you can only send one ringtone at a time per email or else treo can't open it. Anyways, I have given up on downloading ringtones till I find a better way. I was surfing for softwares and found one called HoHo which supposedly allows you to make your own ringtones, but I have no download it b/c I'd like to know first if it's worth it.
You see I don't want to make my own ringtones, I want the cool ringtones that are out there already. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait and see.
Oh, by the way, you cannot hotsynch ringtones stonedog_cat. It says it in the treo600 support site. There are only 2 ways accroding to them, you can either go to the site and download directly from the site (which as I said before hardly works b/c most sites have the files in .zip form not .mid form) or you can send it to yourself via email in an attachment and then open it from your phone. I know it sucks b/c it really limits people like myself who's cellphone provider is still living in the stone age and doesn't provide internet.
I'll check back in case someone knows a better solotuion for me.
Thanks very much for the suggestions everyone,
JoJo

The easiest way to get ringtones for the treo is go to www.3gupload.com You register and put screensavers, and ringtones in your locker... After that you simply grap your treo..launch your browser and go to www.3gupload.com/wap and log in.... You will find all your ringers and screensavers you have transferred......FREE and the best RINGTONE SERVICE I HAVE SEEN YET!!!!

Hi everyone,
Thanks very much for the response.
The problem with www.3gupload.com is that it's only for USA Cell Phone providers. I don't live in the USA. I live in the Caribbean (St. Maarten), so that site doesn't work for me.
I still can't find good ringtones. www.mididb.com is horrible, you can't get good ringtones there for free.
It wasn't this difficult with my T68i. I composed all the ringtones my self and I always had the latest stuff.
I'm almost giving up on ringtones for my Treo 600.

You state that the ringtones are free, but once I put them into my locker I have to pay to get them onto my phone.

Can't you just have the .mid files on the SD Card, and then use Filz to move it onto TREO?
