View Full Version : Acid Image - garbled thumbnails??

Just installed the latest version of AcidImage on my 90. I works great, but the thumbnails are garbled. Can't figure out why. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

I looked at Acid Image yeserday after someone else recommended it. That person said it was free. I decided not to download after I saw that it was just a free trial because I already have Splash Photo. I love Splash Photo. No garbled thumbnails. Much better than Photo Stand. Is the Acid Image you have upgraded for Palm OS 5? I had Album to Go on my NR 70 V, and when I upgraded to Palm 5, it worked for a while, and then all of a sudden the pictures and thumbnails looked like colored negatives.

Acid Image was updated to deal with this. Are you sure you have 2.4r or higher? Also if you have this version and have any thumbs left over from a previuos version, those older thumbs need to be deleted. Use ClieFiles to access the files and delete both the AIthunb.thm and AIthumbD.thm files. Acid Image will then create fresh thumbs .
I saw that "free" comment. It's well worth the money esp. when compared to the horrendous wait times of ClieViewer...

Do you have version 2.4r? That release fixed the garbled images on the NZ.
If you have the older version installed, they do say: "Fixed green JPEGs on Sony NZ90 - note - if your thumbnails are still greenish, delete 'AIThumbD.thm' and 'AIThumbI.thm' from each directory ". It worked for me.

Thanks for the replies.  I have v2.4 - no "r" in the version number. Also, I don't have an older version - this was my first. I can't find those files you said to delete. I have only two files in the internal directory for acidimage - the application itself, and the preferences. ON the memory stick is a filder labeled acidimage, but it doesn't contain those files either. Is there somewhere else I should look? Where can I download the version 2.4r?

Overall, I LIKE the program. It's faster and probably worth the money.

Okay, found the two thumbnail files and deleted them. I also deleted the entire app - going to try another download....

Downloaded version 2.4r from Red Planet's site - installed it and it works great! Much better and faster than Clie viewer. But I like the Clie's "photostand" better for viewing slide shows....

Acidimage is definetely worth the money.

I downloaded acid image just 2 days ago, and never saw the special version for the NZ90. I hadn't looked at thumbnails until reading it here, and--low and behold--FUZZY!

I've loaded the updated version--CLEAR!

That's what makes these boards so cool -- thanks!
