I just got my NX and I figured hey, lets pick up the screen protectors while im here. Not only are they hard to get on right without any bubbles. They are nearly frickin impossible to get on without any dust or fingerprints appearing on the sticky side. So I wasted 20 bucks getting one. Sorry I had to vent and I figured this is a good way and I can warn others as well.

I fell for it too, Alistar. I got the screen protector on all right, but after 2 weeks it got foggy and all scratched up. I eventually took it off after 3 weeks because dust was getting underneath. I will try other brands. Buyer beware, Sony screen protectors suck!

BTW: I got mine for $9.99...where did you get yours?

Best Buy has the WriteRights for $19.99. How do they work?

how does it compare to Brando's is it similar material? because I did not have any trouble putting the Brando protector on.

I used a screen protector once on an HP PPC and it scratched my screen. It was a bear to keep dust free and it was more difficult to tap with my stylus. So I don't use them anymore and I have no scratches on any of my 3 Clies. So IMHO all screen protectors stink:)!

Interesting. I have used the writerights for 2-3 different sony pda's. I have the nx now and have no problem with the fellowes WriteRight's. I admit it takes a few protectors until you get it right but the fellowes product works great. I wouldn't use my nx without it.

Writerights (or however it is spelled) are terrible. I used to use those on my old pdas. Bright lights caused a bad glare and the rightwrites were also not very clear. I switched to innopocket protectors on my NX and they are incredible. They are very clear, protect well and last a long. writerights used to last me about 3 weeks before I had to change them. I have had my innopocket protector on my NX for 4 months and it is still as clear as ever.

Screen protectors for PDA's are like wearing boxing gloves while performing surgery.

I'd have to disagree. Always use protection

I use ScreenCare's Protector Plus - it's almost scratchproof (even when I tapped like crazy to kill the alien in Insaniquarium) and doesn't seem to affect the screen's sensitivity at all..

On the down side, it's very slightly milky (in colour) and is a bit reflective.. I would never use a PDA without screen protection.. just my 2 cents' worth..

I never wanted to use a protector (the screen is so beautiful) until I got 3 (!!) big scratches in two days on my NR70V (just one invisible dust under the stylus, that's all!) . I bought a Brando and not only it protects perfectly but it HIDES THE SCRATCHES! Brando says that it is also "Anti Light Reflection" and it's really true. And after six months not a single scratch on my protector!

I love Brando and the guy is really OK . Last week he sent me freely a new protector because I had sent him an Email to say that THREE MONTHS AGO I had bought two protectors (for others PDA) and that I had just seen now that one had a little "peak". Really fair!

I'm using the Innopocket screen protector on my NX60.... Static cling... it's nice. A few lifting segments along the edges, but no major bubbles at all (actually, no minor bubbles either). $10.00 + shipping. But this is only day 2, so who knows how well it will fare? I'm pleased so far.

I agree about the Sony protectors ($9.99 at Fry's), No matter how careful I was, I still ended up with a tiny piece of dirt under the protector that I can't remove.

OK, the fit is good, but I don't see any other redeeming features.

On my old Visor, I religiously used the Fellowes Writerights. To be honest, I like the textured feel they have. It give a good tactile response to the stylus - but I was unable to find them locally for the NX70, so went with the Sony one.

There is no way I would use a PDA for any length of time without a screen protector. trap a piece of dust between your stylus and the screen, and in goes a nice deep scratch.

Personally the WriteRights have been good for me. A little foggy but only if you are not carefull placing them on the screen...

I hate the WriteRights I bought for my NX while waiting for the Brando (which arrived quickly, by the way). Who wants 'em? You can have them for shipping cost! The feel is awful and look is inferior...you can tell it's there as opposed to the Brando...ask my son if his is still on and he says "I don't know"! Mine has been on since November and it's just fine! You must be careful applying it...sure....it fits exactly and has tacky side...but if it's not just right you lift and re-apply. What's the problem? I've put them on 3 Clies.

Brando's are 10 dollars for 1 of them! That is insane. Qhy not get writerights (12) for 20. Are brandos that good, do they make the display look not as good like the fellows, or are they just overpriced

They are that good! I swear...you won't have to replace it for a long time!

I can't speak for brandos but I can for innopockets. they are $10 for 1 but 1 innopocket protector is equal to many writerights. the innopocket is just about perfectly clear and so far it has lasted me about 4 months and still looks perfect. Course you only get 1 for $10, because you won't ever need more than that!

Does the adhesive wear off, or is it static or what. can you wash them?

I bought WriteRights with my first PDA, a Palm IIC, and they were SO horrible that I gave up on the idea all together (they were the only ones available at the local stores:)).

So I went through several different Clie's, getting minor scratches here and there and then my NX....

I bought this protector (http://www.clieuk.co.uk/cliestore.shtml) and it's the BEST, doesn't get all pitted like the WriteRights, doesn't glare, doesn't look milky or cause the graphics to get blurry or distorted AND NO bubbles. It's stiffer then the WriteRights and therefore easier to apply (without the bubbles and using a card to squeegie). Sorry about that spelling.

PLUS I discovered Plexus (http://www.autogeek.net/plexplasclea.html) , which I was going to use if these screen protectors turned bust, but I have now found that it covers any scratches on the body, cleans the body beautifully and creates an anti-static "layer" that keeps it from getting zapped in these dry conditions or collecting bites of dust, etc...that will scratch the surface.

Anyway, there are great protectors out there, they are a bit steep compared to the cheapos, but last FOREVER and do a much better job in the mean time.

Also I suggest trying the plexus, it's a great price and the bottle will last you forever:)

Yes, but even with HEAVY use they last for 6-12 months and without all of the pits that the WriteRights have.

Oh, and clearer too:)

BTW these are evens better then the WriteRights and you only pay the shipping costs which are very reasonable:)
