Has anyone tried the sa10 MP3 player for the sj series? Its retailing for as much as what I paid for the PDA!
Or are there alternative brand compatibles? I'm also wondering about the KB11 keyboard adapter.... All of the extras for the SJ series seem to be running high dollar- is it just a matter of waiting for prices to fall, or maybe its time to upgrade to something that will be MP3 inclusive?

Have you considered the T665 with built in Mp3 - I bet you could pick one up for a decent price. You would gain color and faster processor as well - might be worth a look see. The downside would be battery - probably considerbly less runtime then what your used to with your SJ20.

I was considering MP3's on my SJ-20, but once I looked into it and found the price for the MP3 converter (SA10) costs $150. I quickly changed my priorities and deleted Kazaa off my desktop. :D
Besides.. kazza was doing funky things like connecting to the internet without permission (on its own) and I wasn't real pleased with that. (/digression).

Experiment,
That's why you get Kazaa lite. Some developer took Kazaa and stripped out all the spyware. No more popups or unwanted connections.
Back to the subject... I too was considering getting the mp3 converter until I saw the price. For now, I'll just stay content with my current mp3 player as a seperate item. One of these days I will upgrade from my SJ20 to a nicer one. I'm waiting for the day when you can get a quality pda with a QUALITY built in camera along with mp3 functionality. Hopefully it will be soon and with an integrated cell phone.

I guess this is kinda off-topic, but someone mentioned it up above and it reminded me. If any of you use stuff like Kazaa or just surf the web alot, you should try Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) by LavaSoft. Last time I checked, it was still free and it removes ALL spyware from your system. Even those stupid little web-enabled programs that you don't even know you've downloaded when you surf onto some pages. It's amazing how much stuff you can have on your computer without even knowing it. I run it every couple of months and it keeps me clean of all that crap.

I was afraid y'all would say that. I may have to wait until you technophiles start recycling your used T665s on ebay though.
BTW, I was looking at the kazaalite.com earlier this week- did it get hacked or is it always that full of garbage?

I use Ad-aware as well. Problem with that and Kazaa is that on older versions it removes the Kazaa spyware, but Kazaa will not function. I heard on newer Kazaa versions, it will actually detect if the spyware was removed and reinstall it. Don't know if that is true though.
As for Kazaalite.com-- I never went to their website. I just downloaded it from zdnet.com, so I couldn't tell you...

Yeah, I noticed that running Ad-aware would kill Kazaa, but since Kazaa is a festering hole of spyware, then it's no loss to most people. I'd recommend Kazaa lite instead, or Gnucleus (http://www.gnucleus.com/) , which is what I use. It's open source and spyware-free. It's really only good for single tracks, but then again, all the good P2P clients that had full albums were shut down. For full albums, I still just get them off IRC.

The best place to get Kazaa lite would be from zeropaid.com (http://www.zeropaid.com). It's a site dedicated to adware-free file sharing, pretty cool. They always have the latest versions.

I'm gonna curb my mp3 delirium for a while, wait 6 months, and go for an upgrade. But, between now and then I'm hoping I can find something under 90$ for a keyboard.
Zeropaid.com I wouldn't have found it on my own. Much appreciated!

I have a separate MP3 player. I like the idea of having mp3s on my sj30, but 128 mb is a relatively low amount of music, compared to the amount we can carry on the actual portable mp3 players. How long have you had the SJ20? Personally, I'd wait until the new line of PDAs arrive, but that's just me....I've only had my clie for 2 months and it has color on it. I know how appealing color is! =P

I haven't had the SJ20 very long, but it was also before I discovered kazaalite! I'm still enamored enough to wait for an upgrade to one which will play music. I'm still recovering from my former bout with "post-it-note-traumatic-stress"..... they were on my windows, my books, in my car, pockets, purse.... I'd walk and be followed by a flurry of little tiny scraps of paper with phone#'s and reminders!
Color isn't a big deal to me for now, and cash is tight until I finish my degree. You're right, 128mb isn't a lot, and that's the only memorystick I have. I'll have to post another question on that one elsewhere.

I never bothered with Kazaa because of the spyware and I went straight to WinMX? The GUI is kind of clunky but the selection is pretty good and it has no spyware.
As for MP3s on my Clie, I bough the N760C because if the MP3 player and find I don't use it all that much. The maximum you can put on one card is 128MB and the player sucks down the batteries too fast. My Clie is my organizer first and entertainer second, therefore the MP3 player gets very selective usage.
If you need to buy a $150 MP3 player adapter and $40 for a 128 MB card, just get a Treo 15 from edig.com. A 15 GigaByte player the size of an Ipod for just $169!!!

The one thing that is not too cool about all you forum junkies are that your not really happy with what you got, which I think is strange... Remember, first and foremost a clie is a PDA. It is there for primarily PIM usage... You guys want to upgrade your Clie's just like that! Why?
Or maybe Im just new to the world of PDA's, but how long does your average PDA last before you need to upgrade.
Another thing, if my battery eventually wears out, how is it to obtain a new battery pack, and can install it myself?
O, ya, I have a SJ20...

IHMO, here's a little piece of info for everyone "Spybot - Search & Destrpy" does a better job than AdAware but if it isnt broken dont fix it applies for anyone who wishes to keep AdAware on their computers.
Plus Kazaalite 2.0.2 is great i'm sure everyone using it loves. If your using a firewall such as Norton's or ZoneAlarm you can customize everything so need to worry.
Personally I own a standalone Mp3 player and really didn't look for a Clie with that feature.
Peace,
Wayne

I just bought a Rio Riot (20 Gig) for $150 on EBay, and the Treo 15 is obviously a great deal too.
At these prices, I'll take a second unit that stores my ENTIRE music selection, rather than just 10 or 20 songs on a 128 MB memory stick. If you have to buy a larger memory stick, these hard drive units are actually CHEAPER than buying a Audio Adapter plus stick.
