I've been reading numerous posts about the Sony/Ericsson T68i phone and it seems to be a great phone but how old is it? Is it an older phone or one of the newer ones? I'd like to get a Bluetooth phone to use with my NZ but is there something on the horizon coming out that is newer and better? Perhaps from Sony/Ericsson? Comments/suggesions...

The T68 actually was launched about 2 years ago. Then about 8 months ago the T68i with Java support was launched. Owners of T68 can send their phone to SonyEricsson for the firmware to be flashed to support Java as well. After getting the latest firmware, the T68 and T68i will be exactly the same apart from the outlook(casing slightly different).
Another alternative is I suggest you take a look at the Siemens S55.

There's a very good review at Mr Howard Chui's website (http://www.howardchui.com/index.php) .

The t68i is great, I've had one for about 4 months. The other new and popular option is the Nokia 3650, but I'm not a huge fan of the design -

The t68i worked very well with the NZ90, so you're fine there in case that was a concern.

Actually the T68i does not have JAVA support. The primary difference between the T68 and T68i is MMS support and better memory management. The interface response on the older T68 was horrible and only marginally better on the T68i. However, you get used to it and I love my T68i.

I think palm makes a program called dialer that does this, and some people have gotten it to work on their clie.

Yes you can use the NZ90 to dial your t68i you need to get the drivers first.

The NZ basically uses the T68 as a modem so that is how you want to set it up on the NZ.
First you need to pair/bind the two devices.
On the NZ, go to Prefs and to the Bluetooth section. and verify the following settings, and give your device a name (the default appears to be your HotSync ID):
- Bluetooth = enabled
- Allow device to be discoverable = yes
On the T68, go to Bluetooth screen and select Paired Devices, then "New" or something like that to create a new pairing.
Choose "Phone initiates", at some point it will ask you for a pass code, enter a "1" or whatever you like.
It will start searching for BT devices and eventually show your NZ in the list of nearby BT devices. Select the NZ.
The NZ will prompt you for the pass code, enter it and check the "save" or something like that check box.
Your devices are now paired so you don't have to do this again.
One more time, go to the Bluetooth section on the T68 and make it discoverable.
On the NZ, go to Prefs and to the Connections section. There should be a Bluetooth Modem item, select it and tap Edit... (if it does not exist then tap the New... button). Verify the following:
Name = Bluetooth Modem
Connect to = Modem
Via = Bluetooth
Tap on the Device edit box. This will start searching for a BT device, it should eventually show you the T68, select it.
Now go to the Network Prefs section. Pick one of the network services that you won't use and edit it as follows:
Service = T68
User Name = anything non-blank
Password = anything non-blank
Connection = Bluetooth Modem
Phone = *99***2#
Tap on the Details button and verify:
Connection type = PPP
Query DNS = checked
IP Address Automatic = checked
Tap on Script and verify that there is only an "End" entry.
You are now finished!
So, what is with that funky phone number?
The T68 has multiple data comm profiles and as delivered from T-Mobile, profile 1 is for WAP access and profile 2 is for Internet access. The phone number above basically says use GPRS using data comm profile 2.
So, now you can fire up your browser (or other network app), and select T68 in the Network Prefs and it will use your T68 via BT to dial that funky number to connect via GPRS to the internet.
BTW - You can use the same procedure on the NR and NX with the Sony BT Memory Stick and it also works with a Ericsson T39 phone.
As I noted in a previous post, this works with a T-Mobile phone. If you have a different carrier, the data comm profile setup on the phone may be different; the carrier should have a FAQ on how to use the phone as a GPRS modem which should tell you what the phone number is to connect via GPRS to the internet.
Have fun! [/QUOTE]
I believe he referred to this site when doing so:

to gstorm:
I used these setting and have no problem with email, but I can't get any web pages to ever show up using every possible web app available. nothing.. just blank.
Is that even possible that email will work but web browsing won't?

there is a t68i replacement scheduled to be released in the 2nd quarter it's the t610, bigger better screen, built in camera, bluetooth of course amoung other thing, just do a search on google. the design is not as sleek but it looks to be a amazing phone, no pricing as of yet but i wouldnb't be surprised if it was 500, 600, +

I like my T68i. The user interface could be easier to use, but it seems to have more control options/flexibility than the Nokia 3650. It is also smaller.
