Two months ago I bought a t3, after two weeks it was broken and I sent it back to the store.
I thought I should wait for t4 or something but now I don’t know.
So should I wait for t4 or should I but the t3 now?

While I'm not a T3 owner (yet?), what was the nature of the failure that caused you to return your T3? From what I've read so far, it seems like most people are happy with the T3. How soon do you need a PDA? Can you wait until the next 320x480 Palm is released?

For me the issue revolves around the lack of SD WiFi cards so far. Until I see one working in a T3, or integrated WiFi in a T4, I am holding off on my purchase. I like most everthing else about the T3, except the battery life.

How is the battery life for "normal" use? I had a Sony T665, which people complained about battery life, but I didn't find too bad for my use.

I use about 60% during a full day at school.. and I use it alot, contatly messing with it because I Am bored in class.
imo, it needs to charge every night, but as long as you can get it to the cradle, you can use it all day.

I agree with Holyoak...I use over 50% in a typical day, but in my 6 years of owning PDAs, I've made it a habit to stick in on the cradle as soon as I walk in the door, so I've had no problems.

Yeah, get the T3 - by the sounds of it your Palm just had a manufacture fault - same could happen with any device.
I like my T3, does everything I want. I like the Bluetooth support, my Sony Erricson 610 doesn't have Wi-Fi, so it would be pointless to me.
As for battery, like crh3f I stick mine in to charge each night.

Battery life could indeed be better on the T3. But then, I just started underclocking mine to half speed (200mhz) and already I'm seeing dividends on the battery life.
I don't have specifics, as I don't necessarily know of any benchmark software that can map that sort of thing out.
The only program that I leave at NORMAL speed is Kinoma. Everything else, including mp3 player seems to run fine for me.
But yeah, I still stick it in the charging cradle when I get hom. Takes all of 10 min (approx. YMMV) to recharge back to full power.

how exactly are you underclocking? I'd like to do that, all I use is agendus and word-to-go, so I doubt I need all the speed. And extra battery can't hurt.

Use PXA Clocker:

- do a search on PalmOneCity for more info.
I would advise to use it only for UNDERclocking....
Oh yeah, you want system default at 200 otherwise Grafitti screws up, but anything else can be less.
get sony clie TH55. its for the same price and has got bluetooth and wifi, outstanding stamina (cca 4 times the T3 under normal condition and you can listen to mp3z almost for 25 hours!)
and it has much much better webbrowser then T3 has got .. plus some other goodies like better PIMs, built in file manager, card import/export, native mpeg1 and mpeg4 player, camera .. no slider ...

Orol, can you explain how the browser on the TH55 is better than the one on the T3? Is it the same browser as on the landscape UX? TIA!

actually the one used on TH55 is netfront 3.1 which is the best browser out (regardless of platform, even PPC folks use netfront)
better formating, no problem with javascript, html, xhtml, css, ssl ..
you can even access outlook 2003 over web. hotmail isn's a problem too
you can simply change user agent.
thanks to the advanced smartfit technology you don't need any proxy (as on T3) and you can choose from 4 different redering techniques ... really cool. plus memory management with netfornt is much better. you can view even big pages with many pictures without any problem .. the one you would never ever able to see on your T3 ...
not to mention is much faster then webpro 3
p.s. you can have it on UX50 too, no problem with that ..

The TH55 (UK version) with WiFi and Bluetooth costs more than the T3 in the USA. See the eXpansys (http://www.expansys-usa.com/product.asp?code=TH55) website. $521.45 (USD) as of 3/20/04.
The most the T3 costs is $399.00, but cheaper prices can be found.

Thats a SOFTWARE issue. As far as Hardware goes, I still like the T3. It's faster and more compatable with the majority PalmOS software than Sony machines. Also the twisting wonder keyboard joint on the Sonys is yet another thing to get loose over time or break...

well yes hardwarewise is T3 better (faster CPU & more ram) but it has much much shorter battery life, which is the point of a PDA. I don't want a PDA with shorter battery life then my laptop :-)
compatibility is the same :-)
not to mention some great software as netfront 3.1, picsel (still the only product allowing viewing native PDF files) and some others cannot be run on palmOne devices :-) or some decent mpeg1, mpeg4 player ...
but to each his own ..

I don't know what laptop you have, but my Inspiron 8200 won't outlast my palm.

but the TH55 is all tablet form, no keyboard or anything to get loose over time and while some have to charge the T3 over night, I charge my Th every 5 days. Battery life is just that good. Just depends on your needs, if you value battery life vs speed, TH is the way to go, but if you want speed, then yes, the T3 would be a good palm to get. Also with the Th, sony has been going standard api for majority of the options now. Unlike before we can now have any 3rd party music players. so far anything that I bought from palm gear has worked on the TH.

ummm guys, i don't find the t3 batt life issue is really annoying for me, especially after i underclock to 200mhz for system default while use the 400mhz (or even up to 600mhz if i want to) for acidimage, docs2go and mmplayer. now my batt life is almost the same with my nx80., but with more muscle. i mean i could open the excel file without any hiccups, which the same file makes the nx80 hang.
yes, t3 can't compete with th55 in batt life, but what i feel is the combination between t3's power (even after underclocking) and its batt life is still better than th55 batt life with 126mhz.
there's a time when i think i will need the car/usb charger, so i buy it. in real life, i almost never run out of battery, so i barely use the car/usb charger. and i also don't mind to charge everything every night. i mean what's the point to have th55, only to say "hey, i don't charge my pda last night" while you CAN (but don't want to) charge it every night.
yes, i would scrap my t3 if the batt is run out in the middle day after using it (let's say) just for 1 hour.
yes, sony has a nice apps such as netfront31, movieplayer, flashplayer, decuma, as well as the new clie organizer. but i think i could survive and live without it. actually, i have tested the demo of th55 clie organizer, .... oh man ..... it IS slow, needs around 5 seconds to load up.
reading all data .....
reading all data .....
reading all data .....
reading all data .....
reading all data .....
now, i'm thinking again to buy the th55.
the story would be different if sony gives it 200mhz just like the nx80 (assuming the power and batt life would be the same as nx80). or even 400mhz, i will jump all over it, since i don't love the slider of t3 THAT much.
but the d-pad of t3 is WONDERFULL.
