I'm a recent PPC convert to Clie NR70. I do like many of the features. However, I'm disappointed with the address book layout. I'm in sells and I like to be able to access my clients by the accounts/hospital/surgery centers that they're affiliated with. The layout of the Address Book is very haphazrd and I cannpt view most of the data on the screen like I could with my PPC. I'm running a client management database (Siebel) and it would be great if the information could be presented in an organized manner on my Clie. Do any of you know of any relatively inexpensive programs that will allow me to tailor my Address Book layout?

Try these:
Supernames:
http://www.standalone.com/palmos/super_names/
Contacts:
I believe the hires+ is not our yet? or will be shortly...

DateBk5 (http://www.pimlicosoftware.com) - provides nice contact management as well as many other enhanced features. My most used and best value for money application I have on my device (been a DateBk user since version 3)
Agendus (http://www.iambic.com/english/palmos/agendus/) - many Palm users like this application although the functionality is designed for a slightly different crowd
Super Names (http://standalone.com/palmos/super_names/) - Designed as an Address book replacement, the functionality doesn't expand into datebook managment, but the presentation of User information is very well designed.
Hope this helps!

Man, you guys are quick on the draw with the resonses. I appreciate all your help. Have any of you tried any of these other programs?
I use DateBk5 (as I stated) and love the integration it provides between address book contacts and appointments, todos, etc ...
I also use SuperNames, because the layout is very nice and easy to navigate on my 665C. When I need to look up contact info, I use SuperNames. These are both great applications, but they might exceed your "inexpensive" qualification.
DB5 - $24.95
SN2 - $19.95
Worth it, but you may want to demo first and pick the one you like the best.
hope this helps!

DateBk5 would probably not help you for what you want...it's more of a calendar program that can integrate with the Address Book. However, if you are looking for an incredibly useful calendar/to do list program, that's the one...I love it. Different colors for different categories of appointments/to dos, HiRes+ so I can use the whole screen, several views (I use the 2x3 week view primarily), icons, links so that appts can be linked to contacts, etc.
Supernames and Contacts 4 are both extensively featured address book replacements; one of them is probably your best bet (I think Contacts 4 is the one with the most customization, features). I don't use either, since I don't have need for anything but the native AddressBook at this point. I also like being able to have pics with contacts, which neither of those do.
Good luck!

Thanks for the additional info. I decided to download a 30 day trial version of Super Names. It's not bad! I may get Iambic Agendus for the sales professional for $40 if the Super Names program doesn't meet my needs. Anythings better than the standard Address Book, in my opinion, if you have to really utilize it for business purposes.

Yeah, I'll probably upgrade someday. Right now, since I use Outlook so much and 99% of my phone numbers are in my cell phone, I have no need for anything fancier.

Yeah, right now 99% of my numbers in my cell phone are my personal numbers. 100% of those in my Clie are business. I'm going to merge the two soon, however. I just purchased a NZ90 and an Ericcson R520m w/BT and a Jabra Headset so I'm going to be all set with being able to utilize my Clie to its potential.
Now, I have to learn how to surf the web and access my company e-mails. I currently have T-Mobile as my cell phone service provider but I don't want to pay an additional 40 bucks or whatever it is per month to do this. Any suggestions?

If your phone supports infrared and has a built in modem then all you need to do is ask tmobile to enable data on your phone, this will use your regular minutes instead with no addt. cost. It will be slower compare to gprs but it's free. You will also need an internet provider # to call and connect.

The Ericcson R520m phone that's on its way was voted Best Phone of 2001 so I'm not sure if it has a modem and infrared. A year or two in todays's age can make a huge difference in technology. I'll have to look at the specs when the phone arrives.
I don't mind using the minutes because I have 5000 per month w/T-Mobile and I never come close to using them.
My ISP at home is SBC Yahoo, so that means that I would have to get the necessary info from them to provide to T-Mobile, right?
it looks like there's a little legwork to be done here.....not as simple as I imagined.

It's not that hard. 1. T mobile these days sets data on by default I beleive so you don't even have to call them. 2. You need a dialup # from your provider which you will then input in your palm settings along with your username/password and that's all. Once you get there I can step you through it. Your provider has nothing to do with tmobile and vice versa.

Thanx for the offer Macpel. I will take you up on the offer as soon as my phone arrives.
Hey, how benificial would it be for me to switch to a wireless Linksys router with regards to utilizing my Clie?
