Newbee to PalmOne City.

Looking for some help regarding Splashphoto and my T3.

Photos are sharp and clear as long as I have the T3 in the 320x320 screen.

Once I expand the screen to 320x480 the photos begin to blur/pixilate.

Anyone have any advice???

Thanks,

Hmm
You did not by chance just get the T3 and had a different device before with SP on it?

No.

I have had the T3 for 3 months and am just getting around to fix the problem.

I had splashphoto on a TT prior to the T3 and the photo were perfectly clear on the 320x320 display.

They are still clear on the T3 while in the 320x320 display. Once I open the slider to 320x480 the photos become fuzzy.

Thanks,

You may want to try adding a new photo ( or editing an old one ) through the SP desktop ( also make sure you have the latest version of SP) and check the "resize for device box" (SP knows the device type he is sync'n to , in perferences. Device resolution) and see what happens, I'm taking a guess here but the "old" fotos were sized by the desktop for 320x320 and now on the T3, SP is trying to display them and messing them up...

Is the picture on the handheld a PDB file or a JPG file?

jpeg's.

I apologize for the question, but I thought that might have something to do about it. When you responded with JPG files, it made me look into this a little further. Here is what I found.

SplashPhoto and AcidImage do not scale pictures perfectly. All my pictures are converted specifically for the larger screen, so the images look very good. If the image is larger than the screen or smaller than the screen, there is some slight distortion of the image when it is scaled to fit the screen. Hope this helps.

Take care,
Lance

Thanks for the reply.

I'll try to format the photos to a 320x480 size when I load them.

Thanks again,

Got the problem solved. I need to install photos which have a larger pixel counts (i.e. 640x480). The Splashphoto installer will "fit" the photos to the 320x480 screen. Keeping the original clarity.

Thanks for all the help.
