How come the T/E

Why did you buy the T/E instead of any of the other Palm offerings, or for that matter, any other PDA? Price, features, etc. For me, it was actually the lack of features-I did not need much of what was offered on the other Palm models. Just needed something that was not very complicated and had just what I needed/wanted. With 32mb of memory, more than enough for what I need. And with a 32mb expansion card-I am a happy camper. How about the rest of you.:)

All I need is a top basic unit
Where I live there is no Wi-Fi
I don't like a keyboard unit
and the ol' black-n-white with 8meg was just about shot.

The included software and features of the T/E were the biggest selling point for me. I found it to be the best value for the money. Additional features in the higher up models didn't justify the additional $$, to me. And the memory is great. Overall, I found the T/E to be the best value, not just in the Palm products, but in the PDA market across the board.

The TE is good for me for several reasons:

1. hi-res
2. speed & memory
3. great value
4. great software package

I have been extremely pleased with the TE. I am hard to please because I come from the line of EPOC OS based handhelds by Psion and they are a tough act to follow, but the TE does it well.

For me, I guess the most important factor was price. I have never had a "real" PDA before. I had a simple one that kept calendar events and phone numbers. It had like 2 lines of 16 characters each, I think! Anyway, I was looking at the T|E and the Zire 71 when I was in the market. I have only had my palm for a week.

Well, the Zire was more expensive and had 1/2 the memory, only to give me a camera. My cell phone has a camera, so I didn't need a palm with a camera too!

Since I bought the palm, I have bought a leather case and a rapid car charger from E-Bay, and a 256 MB SD card and USB reader/writer from Walmart, so I am a happy camper.

Now, if I could only find a friend with a palm so I could play IR games!

Hey, Glen4Cindy, seeing as your in St. Louis, I'll play IR games with you! LOL I don't have anyone to play with either (no one on my playground has a Palm to play with). :(
