AlwaysOn 1.2 doesn't work for my T3. The auto-off time change back to the default value after I switch off the machine. I've also tried AOCtrl DA, Cool DAs v1.0, AutoOff 1.2b and AutoOffDAs v1.0 and the results are the same.

Is there any freeware to extend the auto-off time of T3?

AlwaysOn retains the time on my T3 when I turn it off, however, it does lose the setting on a soft reset. But then it always did that. I ended up buying HandyAid which re-enables itself after a soft reset.

bobbd, what version of AlwaysOn are you using? Do you have any slightest idea of why my setting is lost while your is retained after we trun our T3 off?

I don't think I'll spend so much money on HadyAid just for its always on function. Can anyone suggest an alternative freeware for me? Thanks!¡@

Thanks JPaC. Unfortunately I find out that sysinfo will cost me nearly as much as HandyAid do. ($10 vs $11.95). Iam not quite ready to pay that much for the always on function.

Thanks anyway

I had version 1.2, the latest as far as I know. I can't see why things would change unless there's something else interfering. Do you have any other programs that might set auto-off? That's why I like HandyAid.

By the way, version 1.7 is coming out (currently in beta) with lots more features. May be worth a look to you. It does more than the basic auto-off. For example, I use CardBackup and backup every morning at 4 AM. Because my T3 is in the cradle, it doesn't turn off afterwards. With HandyAid, I tell it to tunr off after 60 seconds in the case of a software on event, such as an alarm. Now my T3 doesn't sit in the cradle with the screen on for hours with no one to see it.

Hi, I am the author of AutoOffDAs - thank you for trying it! However, for a "permanent" change of the auto-off timer on your palm, I think AutoOff 1.2b is the best - it's the only freeware I know that also retains its settings after a soft-reset.

Your problem is not usual though, and if your palm always returns to its default setting, than like someone here said - there might be another program that is interfering. I know of atleast a few:

TealDoc - Early 5.x version and below reset the auto-off timer upon exit.

CradelSnd - Resets auto-off to "Never" upon cable hook-up, and to 2min. upon detaching.

I'm sure there are more programs - you should try to uninstall programs one by one on your device, until you find what's causing it, if that really bugs you that much.
