Hello all!

I'm the brand new owner of a T|3, having put down a series of PPC devices, and would like to ask a question that I haven't seen posted here. Apologies in advance if it has been answered and someone points me to it..

I got a 256MB SD card with my T|3 and am wondering what effect having it in the Palm all the time would have on the battery performance? The T|3 has a lot of memory already available so I don't need the extra space by any means, but I'm just curious if anyone has tested battery performance with and without an SD card in their Palm?

Thanks in advance!

Mike

Hi Mike

I never even thought of that, I doubt it makes any measurable difference.

Unless you accessing the card, I can't imagine it would have any effect on the battery. Just having it there shouldn't do anything to the battery. I keep mine in all the time.

The card supposedly draws a bit of power while idling because the OS has to monitor it.

Yes, it does draw a very small amount of current in the microamp region. Basically, it has a negligible impact on battery life.

Thanks for all the info! My wife is eyeing the SD card for her digital camera so the issue may be moot now, but your input is invaluable!

Peace,

Mike
