Is there an alternative to netfront v3.0? I can not use it to log into aol.com e-mail or hotmail.com or any sites that uses encryption or java applets.

I really doubt it. But you could use VNC or WinHand to use the browser you run on your PC.

That's PalmVNC or Win-Hand.

NetFront is crap, but it has features that other browsers don't. I am still looking for a better one. I use PLinkII and Blazer now.

Actually, you need both PalmVNC and a VNC server. Or VNC as a protocol for short ;)

I guess with PLinkII you mean PocketLink? I'll try that one too. Haven't had too many problems with NetFront so far.
