my zire 71 is palm os v.3.5.3

I thought zire 71 is v.5.2.1? but why is my zire 71 version 3.x? I used to have m100 and i wasnt able to delete the palm desktop of m100 when i installed zire 71 palm desktop. did that somehow affect my zire 71 during syncronization?

that's where i know that my zire 71 is version 3.x. is it just my handheld or do u guys have that same version with your zire 71?

Odd. Try backing up, hard reset and check out the version

i did hard reset and it does solved the problem. my zire 71 is now back to OS 5.

3.5.2 on a Z71? Now THAT's whack!

My Zire 71 is reporting PalmOS 3.5.3 as wll. I upgraded from a Palm IIIc, keeping the same Palm Desktop & all conduits, the first time I hotsynced the Zire 71 it restored everything that was on the IIIc using BackupBuddy. I don't want to do a hard reset for obvious reasons, any ideas?

Really you want to install the new Palm Desktop anyway as it has better support. As for Obvious Reasons, erm, not really - please elaborate...

When I got my T3 and Debs got her Z71 I exported the Datebook, memos and Contacts from Palm Desktop, had a look in backup folder and took any .pdb files I felt important to a safe place then installed the new Palm Desktop. Imported all the relevant files and ping - one sorted Palm with all my data.
