syncing and cradle...

I just received my Zire71 today and have wasted all day playing with it.

A problem I'm having is w/ mounting the pda on the cradle and syncing. The PDA seems to have problems w/ syncing, having a good connection. Is this an inherent problem. The PDA doesn't see to fit onto the cradle, it seems to more 'hover' than anything.

2 things u can do to ensure a correct connection:

If you're sound isN'T turned off on your Z71, then placing it in the cradle correctly will produce a distinct "high beep" and removing it from contact will produce a "low pitched beep".

a correct connection will display the the lightning bolt for the battery gauge, to indicate that its charging (as well as connected). U WON'T SEE THE LIGHTNING BOLT IF YOUR AC POWER PLUG ISN'T CORRECTLY PLUGGED IN THO!

I get this occasionally with my T3, it does perch on the socket. You can actually charge your Palm without having enuff contact to sync! Make sure it is straight in the cradle and that you tilt it forward to remove it.
