Gant 2 icons for zlauncher

Okay, the second set of icons came out in the Gant set... another 300 or so.

There is finally enough icons total (493) that I decided to make the switch from the umicons... I have converted the entire bunch into riconchanger format, and am in the process of making up the zlauncher icon set...

now I may do some more work after this on a zlauncher theme..

I will stick the iconset as it is now and the icon packs up on my website this evening...

right now I am using as a theme the umicons theme by bandit that I modified...

there arent quite as many icons as the umicons theme but they do look pretty cool

Nope, I did not do these... these were done by Mattahan

I just converted these so we could use them on the palm...

the zip file is here, and includes all the icons done for riconchanger, a zlauncher icon set and a background suitable for the icons... havent done much towards the theme yet:)

Excellent work darhorn, as usual :) These icons are the best! Have you any idea where Theo Poon is? I have not been able to get in touch with him like many others.

I assume there's no other way of using the iconsets without Riconchanger ... which as far as I can make out from the searches I've done on threads is no longer accessible for download - a shame.

paul, you actually can use appicon... just import the iconset, and you can replace the icons individually... not as easy, but it does work

How did you get the backgound to work on your T3. I have not been able to do that yet.....Does the image have to be a jpeg?

I load it up (using card export) into /palm/programs/zlauncher/backimage
and then change it using the them manager..

the other thing you can do to get it to the card, which i do at work, is to rename the file filename.bmp.jpg and hotsync it to the card... it ends up in the dcim directory... i then strip off the .jpg and move it to the backimage directory...

Thanks for making the iconsets available! They are beautiful! One question for you though concerning Appicon. Are you able to get it to work on a T3 or on a device running OS5.2? I tried installing Appicon and I kept getting a Fatal Error message whenever I ran it. Is there a version that works on OS5? I was using vers 1.3.

icadoor, as far as I know, 1.3 is the latest version... and it runs fine on my T3.. as long as I dont try to edit an icon... THAT i know doesnt work on OS5

Unfortunately I get a crash running Appicon 1.3 as well. Basically screen goes into a frozen multi-coloured snow scene!!!! :-D and I have to soft reset.

I seem to be having trouble with my registered version of RIconChanger. I keep getting Window68K.c, Line:92, No shadow window found" I got this error a while back and unistalling and re0installing RIconChanger fixed it but not this time. Any ideas here?

I also get a crash running Appicon 1.3 :(

OK - I think I fixed RIcon - have to delete from the Palm launcher & then reinstall. At least it's working right this minute.

hmmm i must have forgotten that... will update in a couple of hours, the file didnt get synced to my palm and is still at work...

and yes, there is a gant 1, but I combined both sets when I made this, so it contains both gant 1 and 2

okay.... updated the zip file above...

included the missing icon set, an updated version of the zlauncher icons... the above theme for OS5 (not done yet)
and a couple alternative backgrounds.... in pdb format so there is no conversion....

Nice job on the ZL skin. Can't wait to see the finished job. If I may suggest, I think a cleaner Tab design may work better with the Top and Bottom panels. Also, the tab icons may probably look better. Maybe a little more like the Battery Panel but with less emboss? What do you think?

I am not sure but is Gant 2 ZL skin done by you too? If so, is it possible to put Gant's Tab icons into it? Currently Gant 2's icons are a wild mix :)

I know this is a stupid question but what do I do with the gant1.prc to gant15.prc files that came with the gant_icons.zip?

I loaded the ZLT_Gant_OS5_64K.prc, ZLI_Gant_IconSet.prc and the backgrounds. I don't know what to do with the gant1 to 15 prc files.

I believe you'll need either Riconchanger (which doesn't seem to be available for download any longer) or Appicon (Which crashes immediately I try and run it on the T3) in order to use the other icons for other Palm apps.

Hence unfortunately for me anyway I can't use the additional icon skins :(

I am hoping that Riconchaanger comes back... there is another icon program, iconfix, but not sure if it will import icons....

the other way to use the files is to use festus's palmBMX to extract all the bitmaps, and them you can use his iconset factory to modify the iconset, and set up specific icons for your programs...

Wow! That Aeroplayer(?) skin looks awfully nice. I don't even know what app the first image depicts, but continues the gant theme nicely.

Are these available for download?

the first apps is palmary clock, but the image is just a jpg set as the background.... I will make it available also...

the aeroplayer skin needs a little more work before I release it...
this is just the first go... needed something to fit .... one things about the font one it... i used fontsubst to change the font for aeroplayer to the MS comic font... fits a bit better...

also made an image for crash pro to fit in...

all should be released next week

I am pleased to say that Iconfx 1.4 works great on my T3. I am able to convert Darrin's iconsets so that I can use it with ZLauncher. You will need to install the Iconfx Converter in order to do so.

Iconfx actually replaces the icon. It may be possible to just do an overlay of the existing icon, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet.
