anyone have opinions regarding movie players for palm (esp. OS5?)

i only know of kinoma and tealmovie

i actually downloaded the new version of tealmovie (3.5)
and was fooling around with it... pretty nice IMO, but wondering if there was anything better (more efficient.. smaller files.. better vid quality.. etc...)

it actually looks pretty good.. i encoded an action clip from the chinese movie Hero (from VCD)... very impressed, tho i wont comment on the file size....

take a looky if you wanna test it out.

http://www.byubyu.com/hero_sampl.PDB (3.91mb)

i encoded the first disc (60 mins) into a 180mb movie file, havent tested the quality yet (its a 3k/frame)

and im rather unimpressed with tealmovies ability to only encode AVI and quicktime files.. i hear kinoma is the same

anyone have other thoughts or suggestions?

IMO, for OS5, the Movie Player that comes with the OS5 Clies is the best one. It also doesn't cost any extra money.

I'm pretty sure there are more than two kinds kinoma can convert. But even if you can't, you could convert your files to avi. I'm using kinoma, and the only kind of files i convert are avi files.

The movie player already on the NX/NZ is the best by far. Kinoma/TealMovie are not as good. Don't bother looking for a better one -- none exist. Use Image Converter from the CD that came with the clie. Visit clieirc.cjb.net for information on an irc channel where you can download more nx/kinoma movies, ask for help with converting movies, and just talk about stuff :)

Then you go onto irc and get movies there :) there are people there who might encode stuff for you as well

I personally like kinoma the best.

I'd recommend kinoma simply because its more popular and therefore there are more clips that you can download.

Actually, I've seen more NX/NZ video than kinoma video.
Kinoma is a lot worse quality anyway.
