Moderators - just had a quick look around and Project Gutenberg of Australia has it published over the net.
The big disclaimer - copyright laws vary from country to country, so please check with local copyright laws.

If in the event that electronic publication breaches copyright in the US, then I leave the call of removing the link below up to the moderators. It seems to be legit and legal for it to be distributed for free in Australia! <*shrug*>

The link as follows : http://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks02/0200041h.html

Note : it is sold as mobipocket format for USD$9.95 from mobireader or fictionwise (www.fictionwise.com)

yorrick, you are correct. It is a matter of US copyright. The original book was published in 1925 and the cutoff is 1923. All works prior to 1923 are free, but works after 1923 won't be in the public domain in the US until at least 2019 due to the rediculous copyright laws in the US.

No wonder it’s so hard to find an electronic copy of The Great Gatsby for download in these days.

But never the least…

By the way,
Would it also be a problem with the *US* copyright laws,
If I do this:
