Pricematch = price BEFORE rebates!

And I can't check the price for ya since it's out of stock online :(.

Doh! Thanks. I might just be getting a T3! I have almost $70 on a compusa gift card, my dad will give me $200 for my NX-60, with a 100 rebate, that would pay for almost $370!

And how is palmone when it comes to the $100 rebate?
And in the first place, how do you get the rebate?

Last time I called Best Buy, they had their T3's selling for $299.99 and I got CompUSA to price match at that cost! Sweet deal because my 14 day window for price matching was nearly up.

I know nothing about the Best Buy rebate, but would sure be interested in knowing more about it.

I hate CompUSA. I just bought the Palm branded case for my T3, decided it was a piece of junk ( I didn't see an aluminum body or interior cushioning like advertised on the case ), and I check my reciept to return it, THEY CHARGE A 15% OPEN BOX FEE. I used the case for like 5 minutes. Don't shop there, please, for a loyal Palm user. Unless of course, you can rip them off!

I agree, Usually restocking fees are reserved for electronic products with a lot of packing, documentation and instruction papers, etc...not for small single items. Go to Best Buy!!

I have been searching the web for T3 rebates and have been unsuccessful. Where did you find the T3 $100 rebate for Comp USA? Thanks.

I have returned may things to CompUSA, and they rarely charge the restocking fee, unless it is a complex electronic and they will have to either return it to the distributor or sell it as an open box item.

If you have any problems, just ask to speak to the manager. They are usually pretty good about these things.

I have had nothing but problems dealing with CompUSA...

1. They charged me a 15% restocking fee on a $250 SD card when I returned it the next day because it didn't format correctly with my T3. I fought with both the Customer Service people, the manager, and then went to their corporate site and e-mailed to no avail.

2. After my T3 had some hardware issues, I attempted a replacement. CompUSA informed me that they changed the replacement policy as of the day I purchased the T3 and that I would have to go through their new replacement program. That program, though they replaced my faulty T3, cancelled my $100 replacement policy saying they allow only 1 replacement (that's worse than Palm's basic warranty!) I'm still fighting with them right now (it's been >1 month and involved 5+ e-mail exchanges!)

I loathe CompUSA, and I beg all of you to please buy from an electronics store that actually cares for their customers and does not change policies right after you purchase them (that is complete BS!)

Sorry for my ranting...

Overall, I prefer Best Buy to CompUsa, but I've found that it seems to be a store-specific issue. Over the years I had to return PDA's and cell phones when I was traveling on business and don't recall any problems. Again, I don't think all stores even in same chain interpret policy the same. I have found though that all the major retail stores have cracked down due to the abuse of their return policy (ie returning a PDA that may very minor, if any, problems just to get a newer model. Maybe those of us that haven't abused the policy are paying for those that have. My solution has been to deal with one retailer exclusively in my home town, then try to strike up a friendship with one of the sales people. I think it's harder to push you away when they know you. Anyway sorry about your experience, but it may be the way things are going. Incidentally, I have a rider on my homeowner's policy that covers my PC and PDA's against any loss or damage ffor $8.00/yr with a $50 deductible. Sorry for rambling!
