View Full Version : Grayhide ZLauncher Skin for OS5
I have finally completed my Grayhide Zlauncher skin!
http://members01.chello.se/olin/ZLauncher_Grayhide.gif
It's available for OS5 Devices. This is my first try in creating ZLauncher skins so you have to tell my what you think and if I have missed something.....
Get from the Skins download section here at PalmOneCity.
I hope you like it!

Excellent! Since grayhide is my favorite DIA skin, it's great to have a Zlauncher skin to match.
Thanks, Velo!

Velo,
Thanks for the speedy product.
I'm not sure how the tabs work, but the current selected tab color is a lighter blue than your darker blue colored theme.
You have the best theme buttons. I like the hemispherical blue with white graphic which you keep throughout your theme.
Keep up the good work!!

Doug

This is pretty damn professional for an zLauncher apprentice. ;)
With this initial entry, you've joined the ranks of BandiT & Parada as some of the best zLauncher skinners out there.
In fact, before I knew you ported your Grayhide to zLauncher, I was so impressed that I went back to my registered version of LX in order to use your skin - I was that impressed.
Unfortunately, when I downloaded the latest version of LX and installed, I was unable to move apps to different tabs/manually refresh - I encounted constant fatal resets. Back to zLauncher.
So many thanks for your inaugural zLauncher skin!

Thank you for your thoughts. Yes I was a bit unsure if I should have the tabs like this or the other darker blue color. The reason for me selecting this lighter blue was that the tab is "active" and therefore should have a light blue color as the buttons when active. On the other hand the darker blue might look nicer....Hmm I think I'll see how the skin looks with darker blue tabs.

THANK YOU VELO! Well done AGAIN! <grin> Hats off to you! along with my thanks for all your time consuming work. GREAT JOB.
I have updated the skin to version 1.01.
http://213.238.217.23/VeloWeb//pics/misc/ZLauncher_Grayhide101.gif
Version 1.01 Update info:
-------------------------
- Changed Active Tab to same dark blue color as other
elements of the skin (buttons, left area of titlebar etc).
- Fixed up/down tabs buttons inverted when in left and
right tab mode.
- Fixed transparancy problems arround custom buttons.
I think the active tab looks better this way.
Get from download section as usual!

I hate when I'm seeming to be stupid, however I have downloaded to my Palm the theme,pack1,pack2, and the dia. The problem is that I now have black fonts in the top and bottom bar. It is hard to read, so could someone please help me out.
I was using the blackhole theme before this if this matters.
This theme is the greatest. It blends nicely into the original os5 theme. Your first theme is very very good keep up the good work.
Your the man Velo.

Velo,
The dark blue looks excellent for the active tab. Thanks!
richf,
I'm using ZL 4B so these are the instructions for it. Go to Options->ZL Preferences. Click on the Color tab to bring up the color page. Select the Date Time, Battery, or any other to change the color of the font.

Doug

Velo...Thanks for v1.01. While I was happy enough with v1.00 to make it my new skin, the v1.01 makes all the difference.
If I could make one request? In the screenshot that I've attached, I show a tab set to transparent UI. All the buttons look perfectly rendered when shown in transparent UI except for the bottom right button, the 'Toggle Tools Panel' button. Instead of just the tiny circle, you see part of the bottom bar attached.
Is it possible to strip away the extra stuff from the button? If not, I'll just deselect transparency...but the transparency UI would look perfect if that singly button were fixed. If not, thanks again anyway.

Oh, so that's what the "Transparent UI" option does! Ok, As you know I haven't used ZLauncher myself for a very long time so I didn't know that it was possible to get that look. Nice!
I'll se what I can do about the transparancy issue. The right "Arc" would probably dissapear when in 320x320 mode but I'll see if it looks Ok anyway.

Actually, I'm one of the lonely saps that kept his T1 all this time. As a result the screenshot above is taken in the only view I have, 320 x 320.
Yeah, transparencey can look quite nice and clean with the right backgrounds - especially now that you've changed the tabs so that the blue perfectly matches the buttons at the bottom and the nonactive tabs match the grey of the battery/memory.
Version 1.02 now available in download section.
Skin updated with transparent toolspanel hide button (good for "transparent UI"s) and different tab scroll buttons.

Wow! This is awesome, and I've been wanting it for sometime but never seemed to get around to requesting. Thanks!
Since I'm on the subject, could I make one small request? I was previously using the GantOS5 skin (I think it's by BandIT, but not sure) and I really like the tab icons in that skin. Would it be possible to incorporate those icons in the Grayhide skin as well?
Thanks again, Velo.

Duofold, where can I get that background image?
I'll see what I can do about the icons in an updated release.....
And Duofold, I would like that background image as well, look really nice!

Absolutely no problem, I'd be happy to oblige! I'll first quickly investigate if I can post a .zip file containing all 3 450 x 450 backgrounds (brown, blue & red). If not, I'll email them to you.

Okay...I've figured out how to .zip the background file, hopefully I've been able to post it successfully.
Also, these backgrounds were included by Darrin Horn in his Umicons conversion for zLauncher.
EDIT: Sadly, it appears that .zip files cannot be posted on this forum. I will go ahead and email the zipped file to you, Velo & Wollombi (you've got email & PM, Velo & Wollombi).

DuoFold -
Could you also send the backgrounds and iconset to me (kdvanwyn@dwx.com). I had conversations with you yesterday on the same topic at BrightHand, but haven't been able to connect to Darrin's website.
Thanks again.

Quick question from a new T2 owner...how do I load a background image? I have hotsynced an image (pdb) to my palm, but when i go into Theme Manager and Back Image, it does not see anything.
