T3 look for zlauncher

I know that we seem to create a cool zlauncher skin and then have been trying to creat a replacement DIA skin so that it would match

has anyone made a theme for zlauncher that would match the T3 default DIA?

thought it would be kinda fun to do, and fairly easy also

Have to agree with pigburger. The original DIA is really boring. As soon as I got my T3, I started emailing Festus about a skinmaker program!

I have not seen a zLauncher theme that matches the default DIA on the Tungsten T3. Something simple with all the power of zLauncher sounds good to me. In addition, it would be "relatively easy" to create different color schemes.

I think the biggest problem with the default skin is it's one-bit look. replace the baby blue with pea soup green and the white with a darker green and you have my old T415 Clie. Hi-res but totally without color. The T3 screen is so sweet, you have to show it off with color....

Use ScreenPrefs or something like it to change the screen to 16 bit, or doesnt this work for the dia?

well for me, at least it doesnt. Either there's a problem with the compilers we (skin makers) are using, which is a possibility (e.g. the ARM bitmap encoding is broken in PilRC 3.1); or PalmOne blocked it, but for what reason I can't imagine...

anyway, if you try it, you'll get at least a soft reset, and in the worst cases a soft reset cycle and you'll have to hard reset...

That's a nice theme, but it's missing an icon for the All-Buttons function.

It's been a long time I wanted to get a nice theme, not childish, nor cartoon, etc.

There missing the "all-buttons list" function and the 480x480 background is
too white compared to the 320x480 "Raindrops.jpg".

Not all of the icons are hires, I think. Especially the ones representing the
memory card files and folders.

If you want to play with diff DIA skins, you owe it to yourself to
check out SkinT3 by Dr. Alex Pruss. Very well done & Alex is very responsive; he worked closely w/Saied of Exideas to make an excellent team effort & now I can use two of my favorite programs MessagEaseSTamp & SkinT3 to make for great creative control of my T3.

If you want to control the color depth, Alex recommended Force16 a hack, yes a hack for OS5 & you can get the free YAHM (yet another hack master) to control your OS5 hacks & selectively force certain old apps into 8bit mode to ensure backward compatibility as I did for my old favorite Parens, which only displays well in 8bit mode & everything else can be hires.

Thanks for all comments. I do not use the buttons myself but at this time I'm working on the buttons and icons. An updated (unfinished) version is available in the zip-file. This update includes the "all-button" icon. The buttons will also have the T3-dia look. Example:

I like the idea of the DIA style but the XP icons you used are nice too.
- To be consistent, the T3-DIA-style
- To be nicer, the XP style
For the tab icons, the folder icons were very nice! In T3-DIA-Style, I
don't know what it will be like!
Can you provide 2 different themes? One bi-colored, the other XP-like.

New update: changed the "Please Waite" logo from low-res to hi-res, changed the toolpanel buttons to match the T3-look and made some minor improvements.
Not to forget: the inactive tabs have been changed from white to transparent.

Thank you for your compliment. I didn't change the look of the memory chip, I only changed the colors. Of course I'm willing to change it, however I'm not sure how a "default Palm" memory chip should look like.
Please understand that I created this theme to resemble the standard Palm look as much as possible.
If you have an example of a improved "default"memorychip picture, please post it here or send it to me.

Ah...there's no default Palm memory chip icon AFAIK. Anyway, nevermind now. I've installed the skin and honestly, it looks GREAT! What I did was just use text for the memory indicator and it looks much better than with the icon.

I would be happy to fix this, only I don't own a Treo 650, therefore I don't know what I should change. Can you please tell me (better: show me) how the signal indicator looks when using my theme?

Furthermore I don't know if the software that I'm using is capable of changing the signal indicator, but I will look it up.

Thanks to Lesliefranke, Festus440 and the_iceman (http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50337) I found a way to change the signal indicator. Please send me a picture of the original indicator and (eventually) a picture of the indicator that you would like to see. Please keep in mind that I created this theme to resemble the standard Palmone look as much as possible.

I don't have a treo 650 myself :( so I can not test the signal indicator, however you're the first person who has this problem.
I also introduced my Palmlook and Clean-Clielook Zlauncher skin on www.treocentral.com. All reply's were very positive and nobody mentioned the signal indicator not working.

Are you sure that you installed the last version (b6)?
Did you put the signal indicator on the top-bar or bottom-bar?

These are the only possible solutions I can think of.
Maybe another Treo-user can answer your question properly.

I do not have any iconset installed and my folder icons are also not very nice. I've tried to change the folder icon in the skin itself, but I'm affraid it isn't part of the skin.

I know there's an application available which extracts the images from existing ZL themes, however I have forgotten the name of this application.

If you can find this application, you may change my skin the way you like.
