3.20 (27/02/03) - New utility to estimate optimal settings, only in registered version. Does not support OS5 or SuperVZ.

Not much of one, but one none the less. Last update was Oct 2001:eek:

saw that also. interesting that they decided to update after a year and a half of nothing and don't offer support for new handhelds out there (i.e. os5).

I downloaded the version from PalmGear, and it's only 3.1? Weird, or you get 3.2 when you register.

I have been trying to download it since I registered it through PalmGear. No such luck :(
Oh well - I've moved on to better, faster (and memory hogging) overclockers ... like FastCPU and ... ummm ... errr ... FastCPU.

So much for choice in this department! :)

I emailed the developer regarding support for the Super VZ processor. Here is his reply:

Hi Bill,

I'm giving it some thought. The main problem is that I don't
presently have a SuperVZ machine to test it out on.

Daniel

I'm going to suggest he post a Cliesource for testers or assistance. I have gotten the sense that users of AB and FCPU 3 prefer AB. Maybe we can help him develop new versions.

Im sorry maybe this has been discuss before but what are the main difference between them...fastcpu and AB?

There are 2 main differences.

1) AB is a hack, requiring the use of a hack manager to run. Hacks are not supported on OS 5 (Tealmaster is supposed support hacks under OS 5, but I don't know if works). FCPU is an app and can run by itself.

2) FCPU only adjusts the CPU clock speed (Mhz). AB adjusts the CPU clock speed, but also has features to remove CPU wait states, increase memory paging and compensate for erratic behaviour associated with increasing the clocks speed, such as screen fuzziness.

I have experience that sometimes when i use FastCpu my screen freezes and bottons too. Does ab do this at some point?

With both apps, you will have to experiment with the settings to get the optimal performance that is stable on you machine. It will vary by model and even within the same model. I have a T665 with the Super VZ processor. AB does not support the Super VZ, and FCPU was not stable.

Are you referring to the demo or the full version?
I'm working on getting the full version upload as I am getting a few complaints about this. I will keep everyone posted.

FYI the full version is posted to both sites so that if you need to upgrade you can now do so using your old download info at PalmGear.com

I loaded AB on my 760C and just love it. I am a registered FastCPU user and AB works better IMHO. The bonus is the registered version of AB only uses 14K and compared to FastCPU's 190K. I used the "Profile" feature that does a series of tests to see what is best for your particular CPU and it recommended 50 mHz so that is what I set it to for all apps. Nothing has frozen, reset, or even distorted yet.

Gotta make the most of that RAM until I see a product worth changing to.

Both sites? What's the other one? I would like to upgrade, but Palm Gear's upgrade page does not seem to have been updated.

Both sites being the old yahoo database and the new ecomm system. If you want to PM your email address I can verify you registered and send to you. An order number would be helpful too :)
