zire71 corrupting sd card- While set on read only!!!!!!!!

I have a 256mb sandisk SD card I use for mp3's. I have to set it on readony, because If I don't it corrupts so bad the zire can't even read It itself. Even with read only when I start realone it corrups it, but the zire can still read it. But I have to back the card up before I use it because I cant read or write it on the PC. (Yes I took read-only off before I tried to write!)

perhaps it's a Sandisk problem... I've destroy 3 128 like that with my 505 and 1 with my T. All are made by Sandisk.
No problem using Lexar or panasonic.
