now thisis the big question. The T3 does have flash ROM so you would have thought so. But it depends on if OS 6 uses any new hardware from the OS 6 devices.

Many years ago I remember Palm relasing OS 4 as an upgrade and indeed I upgraded my Vx, but I somehow think that Palm would rather we bought new Palm PDA's with the their new OS.

The outlook however looks a little bit more positive this time. Remember, the hardware and software division of the once Palm, Inc. are now 2 separate entities. It's a safe bet (no Pete Rose jokes, please) :) that PalmSource would love to see PalmOS6 on as many devices as possible.

But, does Pa1mOne feels the same way???? Wouldn't that scenario cut somehow its profits from the sale of NEW devices?

Being a lawyer, I can almost feel that some terms were hammered (yes, hammered) down regarding that situation when the Big Aplit happened.

Smells like a grace period (one where Palmsource couldn't offer OS upgrades for existing "Palm powered" machines) will go into effect.

Again, Palm1One "ice queen" stance on the matter is driving us nuts, eh?

BTW, technically, I think only the XScale 400 Club can handle the PalmOS6 right now.

Some tech types have been offering reasons that the OS5 would be faster, based on guesses about what "advances" would come with OS6.

something i dont get with you guys and multi-tasking, you have only ONE SMALL SCREEN! i have used and abused a PPC and multi-tasking only slows things down! for me to swap between my bible and memo pad takes only ONE button (im using switch5) and everything is fast as if its multi-tasking!!!

honestly unless you get more than one app in the screen the multi-tasking is garbage!

This is a question I have...

I use a T|C. It does not have the extra bar that the T3 has. If it were possible to upgrade it to OS6, how would you multi-task?

If you tapped the "Home" button, would it no longer close the current app? How would you close apps?

Would it have a "Start" menu? How would you access it? Cmd-key? Some programs (Bible With You) take complete control of that menu with their own icons. Tapping for the app's menu? That menu is configurable by the program, not the OS.

Don't get me wrong. I would like to be able to just upgrade my T|C. I am quite happy with the hardware. But I must admit being confused at how OS6 would work with it.
