Fatal Alert help

I have been getting a fatat alert every few times I hotsync. The message says

Fatal Alert
preferences.c, Line:271, Pref DB Open Error.

Any ideas?

You have a missing or corrupt file. Try disabling all your HotSync conduits first that you can until you can narrow down the offending one. Pay close attention to what the last app was displayed on the HotSync screen. Additionally, try to remember what the last app you had installed before it started happening.

Try using CrashPro demo to see if you can log the offending app. Sometimes a simple reboot of the PC or soft reset of the Palm can cure it too, but it all depends...
