I'm exploring ways to minimize the amount of data transfered from my wireless carrier to my T3 via Bluetooth.
I understand WebPro receives sites via a proxy server. Does this process filter the images, etc. from a web page, resulting in a smaller footprint on the Palm?
Is there another browser for T3 that will?
I'm aware that the display options has a setting for "no images" and I know the cache can be limited, but would either of these be effective for what I'm trying to do?
afaik 'no images' does exactly that! I think you can also set the resolution of images that are downloaded to keep things smaller. There are plenty of other browsers such as Blazer which seems to be reasonably popular...

I use T-Mobile, which gives me unlimited web access for 20 bucks a month. Any other carrier was too restrictive in available bandwidth and were pricey.
Using a proxy does decrease bandwidth. As SoS states, you can take steps to reduce the bandwidth by reducing image resolution or eliminating them altogether.

Back in October, WebPro and proxy worked for me too, until one day it stopped and T-Mobile seems to have disabled that proxy usage. It hasn't worked for me since then. Does anyone use WebPro with the proxy now (2004+) and does it work? If so, what's the proxy setting (webpro.palm.com is the default that doesn't work for me).

T-Mobile with Unlimited internet works with the default settings on my T2. Web Pro v 1.1. Default webpro.palm.com as the host address; with cookies, javascript enabled. I get the best results using the default Palm portal; but other sites load okay.
The best use of T-Mobile IMO is to grab Avango content. Avantgo acts as a proxy as well; and all the content is specifically tailored to a mobile device. Accuweather has a particularly good page. I don't see Palmonecity on the list of sites yet; but I imagine it's only a matter of time.

Why would T-Mobile disable the proxy? It hasn't done so on my T-Mobile account.
My proxy is: webpro.palm.com:8827

If you are using the free WAP access with T-Mobile, you can only browse in non-proxy mode on their system. If you want to use proxy, you have to pay the $20/month.

Yeah, I pay the $20/month. When I look at the other carriers, T-Mobile is a real bargain at $20.
