although agendaVU does have a cool feature that auto-swaps the backgrounds without having to reinstall

The free T3AgendaBG application allows you to store as many backgrounds as you like on your memory card and switch between different backgrounds without reinstalling anything. You simply select the background you want, and click on Activate - that's it - a new background is displayed.

T3 AgendaBG does the same, and handles DIA skins, and is free...

Exactly! I can't believe the price they are charging - $7 per background or $20 for 5!

Especially for something that I can create on my own for nothing in just a few minutes time. I can remember the day when you paid $20 for a Palm app and received something with significant function! $20 for some background images is crazy!

Hi, I hv F3AgendaBG and I can upload the DIAs but I do not know how to load pictures in the SD card and use them as BG - background. Can this be done with Jpegs ? Your help appreciated.

If you mean as BG for Agenda, you need a program such as YaBG to create the files on a desktop. I can't remember the link, but I heard about it here at P1City. Festus440 also has some DIA creation tools available.

The $7/background post for AgendaVU didn't seem right, so I checked it out. They actually charge $7 per theme ($20 for 5 themes), not per background. Is that what you meant PDH LA? Each theme contains 12 background images.

One other difference I noticed between F3AgendaBG and AgendaVU is that if you want to change a picture in F3AgendaBG, you've got to go tell it to change to a different picture. In AgendaVU, you just install a theme file and it'll automatically display a new image from the theme each time you switch to the Calendar's agenda display. Auto vs. manual, depends on what you like.

BTW, who at palmOne came up with that yucky blue default background? Couldn't they have come up with something better?
