Unfortunately, my t665 crashed just when the battery was really running out... it wouldn't switch off, so i thought i should perhaps try to reset it so that i can at least turn it off before recharging.

I had a bad feeling about that... it remained switched on with a blank screen, and it wouldn't reset, so i thought maybe i'll just charge it and try to reset it while it is charging... after about half an hour... the clie remained on, and wouldn't respond to the reset key or the power key.

Tried hard reset, to no avail, but i will attempt to recharge it to full to see if there is any response. Sounds like a dead clie...

Can anybody help?

Do T665's have a hold button?

Its a common problem, there are some treads about it. Either you wait until battery drains completely out or you may open it, dissconect the battery for a few seconds and plug it back(this worked for me). Hope this helps

they have hold buttons. Make sure to have the hold button down.

Thank you very much everyone!

After charging for an hour or so in a panic, i thought ... hmmm, i hope i don't have to let my CLIE sit around for 3 weeks for the battery to drain :)

But indeed, it ran itself out in a few hours. Putting it back on the cradle brought my clie back to life again. Of course, all data is lost :P but i have backups.

I would consider this the super-hard reset... perhaps this could be in the tips section!

Wow, imagine what i was thinking when i first reset and saw the screen literally melt away like alcohol on metal, like some neat virus effect. I guess that's how LCDs discharge themselves?

Thanks again :)

Same happened to my LCD but it wasn't discharged. Actually I did 2 soft resets and back to normal. Never happend again but it surely scared the hell out of me. LCD was like melting plastic in a fire. Well hasn't happened again since then.....

See you
